General Electric Sr. Software Engineer in Bengaluru, India

Job Description Summary

In this role, you will work with GE Digital NPI Engineering Team to develop content & analytics for GE Digital- Asset Performance Management solution. Will work as an integral member of the scrum team communicating effectively with other development team members, scrum master and the Product owner. You will act as, an individual contributor, on these engagements, contributing to development of content/Analytic packages, customization as needed, supporting other team members, innovating next gen product, and contributing to the overall technical success of the team.

Roles and Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Generate ideas to solve customer problems to increase the time to value in the power industries.

  • Translate requirements / vision into prioritized list of user stories and deliver to required timelines and quality standards

  • Collaborate with Product Development Team, Product manager, scrum master, Solution Providers (Partner / Integrators), and other cross-functional teams as required.

  • Help develop Pre-built content for the various verticals like Power, Oil & Gas

  • Effectively apply GE Digital Agile execution methodology and project standards.

  • Maintain & continuously update technical skills and knowledge.

  • Work independently as well as part of the team.

Education Qualification

For roles outside USA:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) with 6-10 years of experience.

For roles in USA: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) with minimum 7 years of experience.

Desired Characteristics Technical Expertise:

  • Experience in Gas Turbine/Coal/controls Power plant O&M and /or with experience in developing Industrial internet of things (IIOT) solutions preferred.

  • Experience working with Databases like SQL and Oracle with strong knowledge in development of SQL queries

  • Programming experience in software development with R studio, Python is a plus

  • Excellent complex problem solving and analytical skills

  • Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodology will be plus

  • Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services and SQL Server Analysis Services is a plus

  • Knowledge in AI or Machine learning methodology will be an advantage

  • Experience with commonly used EAM (Enterprise Asset Management) systems, such as SAP, Maximo, or Oracle EAM is a plus

  • Strong spoken and written English language skills

  • Must be willing to travel to work for Demos and work closely with our customers if required.
