Role Summary:

The Senior Software Engineer will be a key member of the Agile Software Development team, responsible for designing, prototyping and developing major and complex assignments with long-term business implications. Will be required to manage complexities within area of expertise contributing to the overall business strategy and lead junior team members and contract development teams.

Essential Responsibilities:

Break down business problems and capabilities into projects, frameworks, applications, and services that when realized, produce software solutions that solves business problems and/or creates new business capabilities.

Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to build services that enable the integration of Enterprise and Application specific information and business processes.

Specify & share design choices, explore alternate technologies & their impacts, architectural patterns and open standards to conceive solutions that meet time and cost requirements.

Quickly prototype and iterate on ideas.

Collaborate with technical product managers and other members of scrum team (including UI, QA, etc.) to estimate user stories and project..

Provide guidance to development teams on the implementation of new and existing standards, technologies, tools, services and practices.

Drive code reviews, test driven development & pair-programming techniques.

Manage code quality standards definition and enforcement and DevOps policies/practices.

Diagnose/Solve various problems in production/test/development environment in a fast-paced, challenging, and creative environment.

Develop an increasing understanding of technologies and architectures, including; enterprise architecture strategies and implementation, software design and deployment best practices, architecture and component performance testing, hosting strategies and infrastructure architectures, Object Oriented Programming (OOP), Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), Microservices, Web 2.0, and mobile technologies.

Take ownership of scrum team deliverables while mentoring and helping team members.

Flexibility to take and complete tasks other than Java/J2EE developments such as UI development tasks (based on HTML 5, Angular JS, etc) and QA (such as supporting QA automation).


Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) or Master in Computer Applications.

Minimum 7 years' experience with object oriented design, data modeling, data structures & algorithms.

Minimum 7 years' object-oriented programming and design experience in Java/J2EE & microservice architecture.

Solid understanding of the full software life cycle development process including understanding functional requirements, developing detailed technical designs, and implementing testable solutions.

Demonstrated ability to excel in an Agile development environment (Scrum, XP, TDD).

Demonstrated expertise developing multi-threaded Core Java applications.

Demonstrated proficiency with integration technologies such as JMS, Jboss Fuse, IBM Websphere MQ, ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ, Camel.

Experience developing web applications (Springboot, Play framework, NodeJS, ExpressJS, RESTful, SOAP, JAX-RS, JAX-WS, JAXB).

Experience with database technology (JPA, Hibernate, JDBC, NoSQL).

Experience with rules engines (Camel, Drools, Quartz, JRules).

Experience with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, SonarQube, Checkmarx, Coverity, Webinspect, Cobertura, Rally or Jira, Git, Maven.

Experience in Legacy B2B and Enterprise Integration solutions.

Ability and willingness to travel, as required.

Excellent communication skills .

Experience with Big Data analytics.

Experience with AI/ML.

Experience with front-end technologies such as Javascript, HTML5, CSS, AngularJS, jQuery, Polymer.

Agile certifications such as CSM, CSPO, CSD.
