Job Description Summary

This position is responsible for management, development and operations of GE Gas Power’s cloud environment. Working with a global team, you will help drive the successful implementation of cloud migrations and new development to support cutting edge products in power generation technologies.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities : In this role, you will:

• Architect and design sound/supportable technical solutions to complex business requirements

• Evaluate requests for enhancements and determine potential impacts with the current system design/configuration

• Triage/debug cloud environment related issues (Code, Performance, Security, etc.), identify root cause and corrective actions

• Write technical specifications

• Document system changes

• Review technical designs to ensure compliance with organizational standards

• Train/Mentor less experienced team members

• Analyze and adopt new tools to be used by team

• Monitor current code bases used by the team and proactively make improvements • Develop automation tools/products for other teams to use

• Experienced with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure. Strong understanding of cloud services – IaaS, PaaS, SaaS in public, private and hybrid cloud environments.

• Experienced with supporting cloud infrastructure development and creating application software design.

• Demonstrated deep level of architecture knowledge.

• Strong automation and operational support skills using AWS/Azure services.

• Demonstrated scripting or developing software for the cloud with multiple coding languages (Python, Java, JavaScript, NodeJS, Bash/Shell Scripting, etc.).

• Experienced with using management and automation/operational tools: Chef, JIRA, Confluence, Box, MS Office Suite.

• Experienced in container technology: Docker, Kubernetes, or related tools. Demonstrated knowledge in using container cloud services.

• Demonstrated strong ability to troubleshoot issues related to application migrations from on- premises to public cloud

• Experienced with database related AWS/Azure services

• Demonstrated strong knowledge of Identity Access Management with the public cloud. Excellent knowledge of version control systems like Git and GitHub.

• Demonstrated knowledge of network security with developing code and infrastructure (TCP/IP, Proxy, Firewall, Load Balancing, etc.). Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, FTP, UDP, ICMP, HTTP/S, etc.).

• Strong knowledge of common operating systems (Windows, Unix/Linux).

• Experienced in agile scrum methodology.

• AWS/Azure cloud certification preferred

• Demonstrated ability to deliver results in fast and dynamic environment. Excited to come up with innovative solutions to solve issues.
