Job Description Summary

The Maternal Infant Care (MIC) business delivers key products in NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) like Incubator, Warmer, Labour and delivery rooms like Fetal monitoring, etc. Our motto is “sending moms and babies home healthy”. We are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer for our R&D team.

The incumbent will be a core member of the Maternal Infant Care Hardware Team working on installed base issues and developing new features for the Fetal care products. The person will be responsible for electrical and electronic hardware design to work on the solution to the customer and field issues with a constant eye for improvements, quality, cost productivity & reliability. We need a team player with strong interpersonal skills, motivated to achieve results in a fast-paced environment.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will:

  • Design and develop Maternal Infant Care products, as part of a larger hardware team

  • Design Electronic boards and interconnects comprising Digital, Analog, Power and microcontroller/Microprocessor based designs

  • Manage concept-to-production engineering, including high level design, detailed design, schematic entry, simulation, layout management, prototype assembly logistics, board bring-up, lab debugging, system integration, design verification and manufacturing handoff

  • Closely work with the suppliers, sourcing, manufacturing and service teams

  • Troubleshooting and Design improvements for Customer/Field issues

  • Design updates & build boards, DFM (Design for manufacturability ) and DFT (Design for Test)Analysis, Pre-compliance test, Documentation

  • Actively recommend new technology initiatives driving business & customer benefits.

  • Ensure Reliability through Design for reliability processes.

  • Continuous improvement activities by driving the implementation of process and product quality improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors/Masters degree in Electrical/Electronics/Power Electronics Engineering with 7 to 14 years of industry experience

Technical Expertise:

  • Experienced in End to End Electronic Hardware development cycle in Digital, Analog, Power and microcontroller/Microprocessor based design

  • Experienced in Board design and layout tools like Cadence, Allegro

  • Demonstrated experience in technical reviews throughout project cycle to timely deliverables of product.

  • Self-motivated to carry hands-on work with the ability to debug and fix bugs in lab

  • Thorough understanding of New Product Introduction (NPI), regulatory compliance process, design history file and related documentation

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work harmoniously within a team and cross-functional teams located in different locations.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Masters degree in Electrical / Electronics Engineering

  • Experience in Health Care product hardware development

  • Working experience with PWA/PWB (printed wiring assembly/printed wiring board)and subsystem design techniques for EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) design and simulation tool experience

  • In-depth knowledge on ISO (International Organization for Standardization) , FDA (Food and Drug Administration) and other regulatory standards like UL (Underwriter Laboratories), IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) 60601 and how they apply to designs

  • Global project experience
