Essential responsibilities
Wind Rotor Subsystem Integration Leader will demonstrate technical accountability for the Rotor sub-system on the wind turbine platforms. Rotor subsystem consists of mainly Blade, Hub structural, Pitch Gearbox, Pitch Bearing, Electrical pitch system and fabricated parts. You will control interfaces and manage tradeoffs on interfaces within the Rotor sub system. You will drive to identify key risks and subsequent mitigation plans on the overall subsystem. You will lead product development projects from business requirements through installation and operation creating component requirements and as well lead the SAFER cases and field issue resolution.
Demonstrates leadership in communicating business goals/programs/processes for an area or business segment. Has the experience with problem solving attitude.
Lead the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements.
Gather simulation, factory, laboratory and field test data to build upon existing system and component capabilities.
Perform system tradeoffs to both utilize existing components and identify strategic uprates.
Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments.
Provide recommendations to Wind management team
Participate on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issues.
Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews.
Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering/similar from an accredited college or university
At least 5 years of experience in an engineering position
Minimum 1 year experience in a project leadership role within an engineering environment
Domain understanding of casted structural parts design and bearing design.
Experience in renewable energy or power generation technology.
Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems
Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
Ability to work with global team members across cultural boundaries, ability to work in a matrix team environment
Fluent English written and spoken
Desired Characteristics
At least 2 years of experience in a Wind engineering position
Ability to work in a matrix team environment
Experience with problem solving tools and techniques
Proven ability to work under pressure and challenging conditions. Strong desire and ability to drive improvement and change
