General Electric Lead Engineer, Process Design - (Flow Simulation) in Bengaluru, India

Role Summary:This role is to support the new product Introduction to manufacturing plants. The incumbent will simulate the resin flow through porous media and estimate the critical parameters for Infusion. Further utilize the simulation output and support the plants during startup. He/she will overcome the start up challenges by mitigating the same using the simulation response. Also proactively address the challenges by gathering enough understanding through lab trials by using infusion consumables.

Essential Responsibilities:1. Collaborate with co-located teams to understand the process of handover and New Product Introduction process flow.

  1. A good understanding of LM blade production processes & materials

  2. comes with a prior knowledge of reinforcement & Resin for composite materials

  3. Constantly improves his understanding on flow physics

  4. Generate an optimized infusion design, by using the existing tools

  5. Propose the developments to improve the error margin in simulation, be it tool or process

  6. successful execution of infusion design tasks independently with a genuine drive for collaboration and delivering high quality simulation results.

  7. Validating simulations through test plans; making necessary proposals to secure simulations designs.

  8. Responsible for Startup support at plants & address/mitigate defects

  9. Help coordinate and organize process requirements, in coordination with Technical leads

  10. Contribute to on-going projects. Support to other technology projects in Engineering, Business Unit’s when needed.

  11. Communicate progress of project tasks to the project manager, project owner and stakeholders.

Qualifications/Requirements:Masters in technology (MTech) or bachelors in Technology

• Mechanical/Chemical/Aeronautical/Polymer

• An experience of min. 6+Yrs in wind turbine Blades manufacturing process through VARTM (Hands-on)

• Modelling, numerical methods, VARTM infusion designs, simulation tools, FE modeling and programming skills (Python, Matlab, C++, Perl, TCL).

• Hands-on experience with RTM-Worx or related program is a plus.
