Job Description Summary
The role is that of Intellectual Property (IP) Analyst. As an Intellectual Property (IP) Analyst, you will work in cross-functional teams of technologists, IP Threat Assessment Leaders, and IP Counsels to develop and execute IP strategy for the business. In this role, you will lead IP Analytics in a technical domain - search and analyze IP and Non-IP literature, and utilize your technical experience and expertise to provide insights to help drive the IP Strategy for the business.
Roles and Responsibilities
Searching, analyzing, and compiling technical, commercial, and patent information using a variety of free and subscribed databases which will provide information to technologists, technology management, and legal personnel.
Providing various types of analyses, such as those for patent landscape, patentability of inventions, SWOT analysis, freedom to practice, competitive assessment, and patent invalidation, portfolio analysis, gap analysis & monetizing
Carry out searches and analyses to support decision-making around technology and IP.
Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
Present analysis and recommendations in a concise and actionable manner
Deliver on projects within fixed timelines
- BE in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering with more than 5 years experience or Masters/PhD in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering with more than 2 years related engineering experience in the following areas
 Aero-Thermal, turbine aerodynamics, thermal management
 Gas Turbine mechanical system, structures, mounts, bearings
Willingness to learn and build expertise in Intellectual Property Analytics methods and tools
Strong analytical skills
Ability to work with global teams & possess excellent communication skills
Ability to work independently as well as in team environment
Passion for technology and excellence
Familiarity with Gas Turbines or Aircraft Engines.
Lean mindset to automate/simplify processes. Experience/willingness to learn automation methods/tools (eg: Excel Macros, Machine Learning based methods)
Working knowledge of patent law and experience in IP analysis.
