General Electric Lead Cycle Design Engineer in Bengaluru, India

Job Description Summary

GE Aviation Lead Cycle Design Engineer is responsible for building cycle/performance model, perform multidisciplinary design optimization and prepare performance data for internal/external customer for the next generation aircraft engine at early stage of the engine design by working with a diverse global team.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop of Gas Turbine Performance cycle model for new architectures & technologies to perform preliminary cycle design and performance assessment.

  • Execute design space analysis using the multi-disciplinary tools & optimize the engine within the constraints by using optimization tools.

  • Perform design & off design components & engine performance characteristic.

  • Cycle analysis and performance data package generation for internal design team. Build Request for Information/Quote package to be delivered to external customers (Airframers).

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and experts (system, component aero, Secondary flow, mechanical design) to validate technology & performance behavior.

  • Represent the result and performance level in review/Performance Audit. Use hand calculation or simple model to validate the answer.

  • Communicate results, findings and observations in clear and concise documents (presentations, reports, memos, technical articles) to peers and leadership in design reviews

  • Create and Protect the Intellectual Property rights of the Company. Identify risk & opportunity with the new engine design, ideate.

Required Qualifications

  • BE / BTech / ME / MTech/PhD in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering with 5+ years’ of experience in aero-thermal simulation

  • 1-2 years of experience in in the field of turbo-machinery design/test.

  • Computer Programming Skills - FORTRAN/ C/ C++/Python

  • Gas Turbine & turbomachinery fundamentals, knowledge in thermodynamics & aero-dynamics, Engine Performance

  • Exposure to performance codes like NPSS
