Job Description Summary

As the Enterprise Application Engineer, you will build and support Commercial technology solutions (websites, web & mobile applications, SaaS i.e., Salesforce) to deliver market-competitive products and services to GE internal clients. You will be working on multiple complex projects/programs as a technical expert on a Commercial Digital Technology (DT) team in GE Corporate, partnering with functional stakeholders/teams and other DT teams across all of GE businesses.
Roles and Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
Be responsible for building websites and web applications, drive the frontend and backend development implementing new features and functionalities.
Establish and guide the websites and web applications’ architecture, ensure high performance, availability, and reliability, aligning with the product strategic roadmap.
Work closely with UX Visual Designers and other Frontend Developers in implementing an effective and visually appealing design, with mobile first development to achieve the best user experience.
Manage all technical aspects of the CMS including Drupal and WordPress.
Deliver technical implementations for Enterprise SaaS platforms (Salesforce, Conga, etc.) including admin/config, development, and integrations across multiple Commercial technology platforms.
Collaborate with Product Owners, System Architects and Application/Software Engineers to deliver web technology solutions that meet business needs.
Serve as a trusted partner to businesses from DT/IT perspective, understand business processes, gather and analyze business requirements, build technical solutions and continuously enhance.
Apply principles of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and methodologies i.e., Lean, Agile, CI/CD, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, Refactoring and QA/Testing Techniques.
Provide support and maintenance of websites/web applications, triage/debug production issues (Data, Code, Performance, Security, etc.), perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
Define and maintain technical knowledge regarding solutions and platforms, contribute to our expanding knowledge base and repository of best practices and domain expertise.
Be able to research, evaluate and learn emerging technology. Keep up on industry and market trends to assist in product development and/or operational delivery activities. Continuously build domain expertise and bring new ideas to the team.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) or a related field.
A minimum 3 years of professional experience in website/web application development, and/or Enterprise SaaS application i.e., Salesforce.
Experience with the backend aspect of Drupal site-building experience, including experience with Drupal tools such as Drush, Composer, Configuration Management, Plugins, Services, etc.
Experience with writing Drupal custom modules, and theming.
Ability to plan, run, and write automated tests with tools such as PHPUnit.
Familiar with a Git-based workflow for Web Development, Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), Lean and/or Agile, CI/CD, and Secure coding standards (OWASP).
Experience in debugging, problem-solving, and fixing websites/web applications.
Understanding of search engine technologies Elastic Search and SOLR.
Familiar with site analytics and event tracking. Working knowledge on using Google Marketing Platform services, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, etc.
Knowledge of Web Services protocols such as REST, SOAP, and API design for extensibility and portability.
Working knowledge in Bootstrap 5.0, ReactJS.
Experience in Salesforce.com (SFDC) administration and configuration - User Interface, Standard/Custom Fields & Objects, Validation Rules, Workflows, Approval Processes, Sharing & Security Rules, and Reports & Dashboards.
Hands-on experiences over SFDC Triggers, APEX, VisualForce, SOQL, Lightning, and Tableau CRM.
Salesforce certified (Admin, Developer, etc.) or specific Salesforce trainings (i.e., Trailhead).
Proficiency in MS Excel including formulas and functions (i.e., vlookup), pivot table, etc.
Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of businesses, products, key processes, customers, suppliers, market/competitors, and competitive landscape.
Understands key cross-functional concepts and organizational dynamics, business/org priorities and how team/personal priorities are aligned to.
Ability to work effectively with customers, stakeholders, functional teams to understand their business processes and commercial operations, analyze and solve problems to drive value-added and optimal outcomes for the businesses.
Drives technical and business discussions relative to architecture design & implementation direction aligning with business goals.
