General Electric Cloud Devops Engineer in Bengaluru, India

Job Description Summary

The Cloud DevOps Engineer will join our expanding Cloud Devops team. The candidate will have experience in designing and delivering innovative cloud services and solutions using DevOps. At the core the candidate will work to support GE Renewable Energy’s cloud infrastructure to support businesses critical applications in terms of; proactive monitoring, availability & SLA, enterprise & cloud networking, enterprise vulnerability management (EVM), enforcement & maintenance of strong CTO & CISO cloud governance; whilst working on; automation, cost optimization & staying contemporary with cloud services.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, deploy, monitor, and maintain business critical infrastructure and software in AWS & Azure

  • Collaborate with Business, Security, Architect, and various Cloud teams to develop tools, solutions, automation, and patterns to solve problems and drive value.

  • Work closely with Devops /Operations, Sec ops, Cloud Architect teams to automate and support infrastructure and tooling in cloud-based platforms.

  • Leverage infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, AWS Cloud Formation, Azure ARM) to architect and provision all workload resources and components using cloud-agnostic and/or cloud-native tooling.

  • Apply automated deployment tool sets and infrastructure including environments and code management using Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery processes.

  • Build solutions based on security, monitoring, logging, and alerting requirements. Integrate on-premise solutions with Cloud resources.

  • Monitor application performance and detect conditions affecting the health of IT cloud services in various cloud platforms.

  • Drive the implementation and rollout of application reliability, including disaster recovery.

  • Provide guidance and apply agile and DevOps/DevSecOps practices to streamline product delivery and reliable operations of products.

  • Identifie automation opportunities where possible to minimize human interventions, increase implementation speeds.

  • Engineering solutions required to onboard new Cloud services

  • Continuously innovating, running Proof of Concepts and assessing Cloud partners 3rd party ecosystem solutions for the applicability for GE Renewable Energy

  • Maintaining relationship and influencing Azure, AWS product teams

Qualifications/Requirements

  • 5 or more years of IT related experience

  • 3 or more years of experience working with cloud-based platforms & networking in an enterprise environment

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineer or relevant field

  • Strong understanding with proven expertise in Cloud Architecture & Security for AWS & Azure platforms.

  • Strong understanding of AWS core services (VPC, IAM, EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, Kubernetes, EKS, Managed Kafka etc).

  • Strong understanding of Azure core services (Vnet, Azure AD, Blob storage, PaaS SQL, AKS, Virtual machines, Azure LB & App Gateways etc).

  • Experience in DevOps environment / Infrastructure operations team / Troubleshooting and root cause analysis

  • Understand Containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)

  • Familiar with scripting languages (Shell script, Powershell, Python,..etc.) and automated configuration management tool (Cloud formation, Terraform ..etc.)

  • Familiar with operating systems including windows 2012R2 – windows 2019, linux in the forms of RHEL, Centos & Amazon linux.

  • Understands technical and business discussions relative to future architecture & Devops direction aligning with business goals.

  • Understands concepts of setting and driving architecture & Devops direction.

  • Experience with CI/CD workflows and tools

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field

  • Cloud Certified DevOps Engineer preferred (i.e. AWS, Azure)

  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills to effectively communicate to both technical and non-technical audiences adjusting style to fit the target audience including multiple levels of management

  • Strong/Expert knowledge of container provisioning and management (Docker/Kubernetes) a strong plus
