General Electric Commercial Operations Manager in Bellevue, Washington

Job Description Summary

Responsible for activities and processes that help the sales organization achieve business objectives. This role leads cross-functional teams developing offerings for greatest impact for customers. Impacts quality, efficiency and effectiveness of own team. This role is guided by commercial practices, internal commercial policies, and approvals. There is moderate autonomy within the role to enter into/execute Commercial arrangements. High levels of Commercial judgement are required.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for providing all aspects of commercial management including contract & proposal development for GE Digital, Grid Software Solutions.

  • Requires pre-qualification of opportunities, interaction with sales & services leadership, customers, channel, & other cross-functional business teams. Must have a demonstrated track record of delivering high quality commercial proposals & drafting contracts with respect to both commercial & legal terms.

  • Responsible for managing complete lifecycle and development of deal execution process including on-time delivery of high quality solutions & proposals aligned with customer outcomes and business profitability / risk profiles; this may include, but is not limited to – request for proposal reviews, bid planning, risk reviews, solution estimates & pricing, deal analytics / reviews, 3rd party coordination & negotiations, technical architecture, documentation, and analysis of terms & conditions.

  • Lead and drive deal team to develop bid requirements related to technical, financial, and commercial inputs to support strategy development and risk management.

  • Act as a liaison between Sales Managers and the Business.

  • Participate in Customer negotiations from both functional/technical and commercial perspectives.

  • Review Customer Purchase Orders to Ensure Compliance with Approved Price Levels, Terms and Cycle commitments to coordinate Hand off to Project Execution teams.

  • Lead communications at all organizational levels including leading deal reviews with senior and executive leadership.

  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.

  • Must be willing to travel.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university.

  • Minimum of 5 years of commercial or technical experience, preferably with commercial management, and/or application engineering.

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience with

  • Knowledge of / background in software and expertise in, EMS, DMS, OMS, ADMS, GIS, and related applications.

  • Prior experience in sales, commercial finance, software implementation, contract negotiation and execution.

  • Prior experience with contract drafting – managing both commercial and legal terms within a customer agreement.

  • Strong project management skills.

  • Outstanding verbal, written, and presentation skills.

  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.

  • Highly organized, driven self-starter with ability to operate independently.

  • Strong problem solving skills and decision making ability.

  • Able to thrive in a matrix organization.

  • Ability to lead and influence cross functionally.

  • Strong customer focus mindset and willingness to meet tight deadlines.

The salary range for this position is $99,000 - $149,000. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. Available benefits include matching 401K program, healthcare, and permissive time off.
