Job Description Summary

Position Summary:

• As a member of the GE China Government Affairs & Policy team, this position will be working very closely with other GA colleagues and business teams to conduct and manage government outreach and policy analysis. Primary areas include: building and maintaining relationships with related central and local government officials and regulators in areas important to GE business, policy analysis and advocacy and advising business clients, and engagement with relevant industry associations.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prime communications with government officials, regulators, and policy makers with a focus on China’s macro and key industrial development policies, and other areas designated by manager

  • Monitor, analyze and evaluate policy and regulatory issues that impact GE business in China and drive outreach campaigns

  • Drive the execution of cooperative programs with central gov’t agencies

  • Coordinate with other internal stakeholders on policy and government affairs related communications and events

  • Maintain and deepen engagement with key industry associations on policy and government affairs matters

  • Support business units to drive for success of signature projects

Key Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years’ working experience in government affairs from MNCs or reputable institutions

  • Proven diplomacy and advocacy skills to effectively handle government relationships and communications

  • Deep understanding of China’s development priorities, key industrial policies in China and excellent analytical skills, expertise in energy sector a plus

  • Proven successful experience in supporting business units to drive for project success

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to communicate at all levels of the organization and to operate effectively in a multi-cultural business environment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills in English and Chinese;

  • Integrity: Accepting and adhering to high ethical, moral, and personal values in decisions, communications, actions, and when dealing with others

  • A minimum of bachelor’s degree is required
