Job Description Summary

Lead Lean Specialist will coach, drive and lead lean behaviors, principles, and tools across a operational or functional area. Drive cultural transformation resulting in step-change in operational business metrics.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the Lean Transformation on a product line within the shop.

  • Responsible to help prepare and facilitate Lean events throughout the year.

  • Responsible to coach and mentor the hourly team and support staff on Managing for Daily Improvement (MDI) tools.

  • Assist with leading/facilitating the MDI and follow-up items within the Lean Transformation plan.

  • Leading Value Stream Analyses (VSA's) and Kaizen Events.

  • Introduction and enhancing current practices of MDI and A3 problem solving.

  • Benchmarking Lean Transformation from other facilities across the supply chain.

  • Has ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders.

  • Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and can construct and provide recommendations.

  • Uses multiple internal and some external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.

  • May lead functional teams or projects with minimal resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity.

  • Communicates difficult concepts and may influence others' options on topics.

  • May guide others to consider a different point of view.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects/event schedules simultaneously.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (Or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Manufacturing)

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Manufacturing, Lean and/or Shop Floor environment
