Job Description Summary
This role is a global design engineering position where the scope is focus on Electrical-Mechanical sub-systems and components for GE offshore wind turbines.
The purpose of the job will be focus on project tender phase (ITO) including technical reviews, design proposals, customer requests analyses. You will deliver feasibility analyses, concept design/requirements as prior step before detailed development.
The range of components spans to Electrical Auxiliary Systems, mechanical internals inside Tower and electrical/mechanical interfaces with offshore substructure components. The list of components comprises but is not limited to IP-Phones, IP-Cameras, Weather station, small Transformers, Internal Power Supply & UPS, Electrical Cabinets (LV Switchgears), Lighting System & Aviation Lighting system (beacons), Power sockets, Arc Flash Guard system, Fire Protection system, Lightning & Grounding systems, sensors, access ladder, mechanical platform, anchor points.
You will work together with Application Engineering, Supply Chain, PMO, EHS, Customers and other relevant stakeholders to deliver the best solution from a whole value chain perspective.
Roles and Responsibilities
Full ownership of technical review/discussion/analysis of customer requests for electrical and mechanical subsystems in tower during ITO.
Full ownership of mechanical and electrical interface with customer substructure during ITO
Full ownership and accountability for design, development, testing and certification of appointed sub-system.
Preparation and control of all related Tender documentation packages including customer technical documents, Design To Order (DTO) and Feature and Accessories (F&A).
Drive compliance of components and their use to international codes and standards like IEC, UL, CSA, ISO, CE, CCC, DIN etc.
Ensure quality of deliverables, on time delivery, design cost, DFMEA, performance, availability, weight and general targets defined by the business related to the sub-system.
Ensure sub-system full integrated solution, interface with mechanical, controls as well as power conversion systems.
Ensure proper design reviews and documentation quality according to RE-120 Instruction and defined project gates.
Perform Engineering Excellence and provide innovative design solutions to deliver world class quality.
Create/modify Electrical drawings in EPlan software
Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering or related discipline. Preferably electrical.
Significant technology and/or product management experience.
Fluent in English (spoken and written).
EU Work Permit
Wind industry experience with proven results developing & implementing technology programs.
Wind turbine Tower and related component technical and business expertise.
Knowledge of Standards and Design Codes.
Skilled in electrical component design calculations, drawings creation, specifications and schematics.
Demonstrated system thinking ability to assess tradeoffs, effectively assess risk, and optimize results.
Experience with electrical CAD tools (NX & EPLAN)
Business judgement and customer focus.
Demonstrated ability to work horizontally across stakeholders to influence outcomes.
Strong interpersonal skills including ownership, self-motivated, problem solving, analytical, team player, communication skills and ability to develop relationships.
