General Electric Sr Application Operations Engineer in Barcelona, Spain

Role Summary:

You will be responsible for providing technical support regarding the application used within the business sector and responsible to fix application and system problems, or any incident that is disrupting the respective application service that business users depend on. The job calls for both technical capability and business understanding. Crucially, applications are production, or live, issues and need immediate attention: an unflappable temperament is a must.

Essential Responsibilities:

In this role, you will:

  • Responsible for supporting and maintaining multiple user and customer-facing applications and related data processing platforms and services.

  • Ensure the user-facing business applications are consistently available and are highly performant meeting customer expectations.

  • Continuously measure application performance and availability against published SLA’s and operational commitments, end to end.

  • Act as a primary executor in responding to customer and user-reported application issues and incidents.

  • Ensure Incidents and problem tickets issued against supported CI’s get resolved within published SLAs.

  • Be able to prioritize competing support requests/incidents across multiple supported applications and maintain focus on solving highest priority and highest business impact issues first.

  • Is aware of system-wide changes and application deployments that might impact application availability for users and takes necessary steps to prepare for and prevent applications outages due to these changes.

  • Support contingent workers, access, and time tracking.

  • Begin to understand the intricacies of interactions and dynamics in Agile teams.

  • Becoming skilled at various approaches to monitor Applications and data flows via effective information dashboards for operational metrics, end to end system data processing, incident management, change control, and compliance.

  • Apply compliance policies, precedent and experience to make complex decisions. Takes calculated risks.

  • Identify misalignments of technology, processes, and direction against the organizational strategy.

  • Make suggestions to course correct. Support driving the operational strategy for technology, quality strategy and organizational and resource strategy.

  • Proactively learn new tools. Identify opportunities for improvement and promote their adoption.

  • Engage positively across multiple teams to establish clarity, vision and mutual trust in order to achieve a business goal

  • Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation and work with global teams Qualifications/Requirements: Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology (IT), Computer Science or Engineering.

  • A minimum 8 years of professional experience in ENOVIA or equivalent PLM application and CAD Integrations. Analysis and Simulation tools: ANSYS, MATLAB, BLADED

  • Good understanding of ITIL and Service Management.

  • Agile Scrum experience a plus.

  • GE Leadership Program Graduates will get credit towards relevant work experience, commensurate to the program they have completed

  • EU Work PermitIf contracted in Spain:Non-national candidates are responsible to know the minimum documentation requirements to be able to be contracted in country: NIE- Social Security Affiliation Number in Spain (NAF) and Bank Account in Spain. They must be in possession of them at the time of start hiring. GE will not sponsor this requirement.
