Role & Responsibilities
The Controls & Operability team within the GE Onshore Wind business designs the controls systems for all GE onshore wind turbines. We are continuously looking for experts and senior technologists across the globe with background in control systems and SW engineering to help us advance the state-of-the-art of modern wind turbine control systems.
In this role you will be part of the team that handles that handles the full lifecycle of wind turbine controls engineering – from development of new technologies, to the design and implementation on the actual product, prototype and field testing, and field issue and customer resolution.
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or closely related field.
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Engineering or closely related field.
Significant Expertise in at least one of the following fields:
Wind Turbine Controls Algorithms and Loads Management
PLC Platforms and Communication Protocols
SW Operations, Release Management, and DevOps
Controls Systems Integration
Model-Based Design & Auto-coding
Advanced degree (MSc, PhD) with a focus on controls, wind energy, or system dynamics
Wind Industry Experience is a strong plus
Excellent written and verbal communication included demonstrated ability to simplify complex topics and communicate to non-experts
Track record of creating, improving, and maintaining design processes to improve quality.
Demonstrated project management experience and skills
Experience with Systems Engineering techniques and requirements flow-down
