General Electric Senior Cooling Systems Engineer in Barcelona, Spain
Job Description Summary
The scope of the position covers from conceptual design and functional specification to testing and validation of the different cooling systems of the Haliade-X offshore wind turbine.
Essential Responsibilities :
In this role, you will deliver engineering designs/requirements, execute business critical New Product Introductions, drive cost competitiveness, and ensure world class subsystem performance of the Haliade-X offshore Wind Turbine. You will work together with Supply Chain, EHS, Operations relevant stakeholders among others, to deliver the best solution from a whole value chain perspective.
The Cooling engineer should have expertise on system level thermal analysis for Wind Turbines. He/she will work to define system level strategy and manage thermal conditions inside wind turbine, as well as developing strategies to expand Wind Turbine thermal capabilities, specifying design requirement for each component. Responsibilities include: Full ownership and accountability for design, development, testing and certification of appointed sub-system. Ensure quality of deliverables, on time delivery, design cost, DFMEA, performance, availability, EHS and product safety, weight and general targets defined by the business related to the sub-system.
o Ensure sub-system full integrated solution, by analyzing all mechanical and electrical/control interfaces. Development of new tools and methodologies (from analytic models to CFDs) to achieve product roadmap targets. Work on cutting corners on specifications and optimize the Wind turbine thermal and electrical performance. Assess design risks and establish validation plans for new concepts in thermal design. Ensure proper design reviews and documentation quality according to GE internal Instruction and defined project gates. Perform Engineering Excellence and provide innovative design solutions to deliver world class quality.
Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering or related discipline.
Significant technology and/or product management experience. o Strong and demonstrated experience in heat transfer, thermal models. Broad knowledge of fluids dynamics.
Strong knowledge of basic components characteristics of cooling systems as heat exchanges, fans, coolers.
Relevant experience in CFD analysis tools Knowledge of Standards and Design Codes.
Deep experience in system thermal validation techniques.
