General Electric Material Planner Offshore Wind in Barcelona, Spain

Job Description Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and team player individual to integrate our Supply Chain organization as a Material Planner. In this position, the Material Planner will ensure parts and materials are available at the right time and in the correct quantities, to allow customer orders to be fulfilled in an efficient and timely manner, whilst managing inventory levels and costs.

Essential R es ponsibilities

  • Compilation of spares part list and main components for worldwide offshore projects ensuring the coordination between the main stakeholders like Engineering, Operations and Logistic Coordinators Teams

  • Prepare material availability report for weekly operation meetings

  • Manage schedule changes – particularly where they impact maintenance start dates. Agree changes with Operation and Warehouse managers

  • Work on material forecast based on worldwide consumption and planification of those parts in function of retrofit campaigns, preventive maintenance, punch list ... in collaboration with the main stakeholders of Engineering, Operations and Logistic Coordinators Teams

  • Review material critical paths and highlight any risks in sourcing / manufacturing of components, aiming for maintenance dates to be achieved within current target timescales

  • Support to sourcing and procurement team on technical aspects coming from the sites

  • Work with the Purchasing team to understand externally sourced component delivery situation and update the delivery plans accordingly

  • Provide input to the Supply organization to support some inventory initiatives like reducing slow moving inventory, optimizing stock levels, identifying safety stock … without compromising on parts availability or on time delivery to ensure customer expectations are met

  • Coordinate with Master Data Management for overall material master data consistency in the system; including parameters for the correct automatization of ERP / MRP

Quali f i c ations / R equi r ements

  • Degree from an accredited university or college in Engineering, Supply Chain or equivalent

  • High-quality planning and organizational skills

  • Experienced with ERP (preferably Oracle) / MRP / S&OP systems

  • Very creative and structured in your work

  • Strong interpersonal, influencing and communication skills

  • Drive to continuously improve and reduce costs

  • Ability to speak English fluently

Desi r ed Chara c teri s tics

  • Experience in the wind industry and wind turbines components will be advantageous
