General Electric Machine Head & Drive Train Leader in Barcelona, Spain
Role Summary:This role leads the team and activity dedicated to the conceptualization, design and development of all mechanical components in the Machine Head and the Drive Train including; New Product and Technology introductions, Application and Requisition Engineering, Design to Cost, Quality, Reliability, Safety, Performance and Fleet Support.
Essential Responsibilities:Lead the activity of New Technologies, Products, Application, Requisition, Design to Cost and Fleet support in the domain area Machine Head and Drive Train:
Demonstrates accountability for functional and business objectives, centered on leading team to achieve specific goals in the engineering design activity. Ranging from new technologies and product specification, development and validation, application, requisition and to support on fleet issues
Maintain broad awareness of efforts within group to assure technical quality excellence, timely completion of work and reviews, appropriate use of resources, and responsiveness to customer/program needs. Manages the team resources adapting to the Engineering business needs, finding synergies with other functions and engineering groups
Partner with horizontal functions to drive significant year over year product cost savings for existing products
Identify new game changing technologies and partner with broader engineering community to develop NTI roadmap and integrate new technologies into the NPI process
Quality and Continuous Improvement
- Drive a culture that ensures outstanding compliance and adherence to product quality. Ensure products deliver on availability, reliability, and performance targets. Formulate and execute the strategy for continuous improvement of systems, product, and processes delivering differentiated quality, performance, and cost.
Team management, development and growth
- Define and adapt roles and responsibilities for assigned personnel. Promote professional growth through timely performance feedback, coaching and counseling. Actively work with rest of people leaders to ensure work and company environment that ensures diversity, equal opportunities and personal and professional growth
Strong engineering manager or similar position
Experienced Leader with strong aim to lead, growth, coach and develop teams and talent
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, including ability to work across cultural boundaries in a global team
Makes decisions and manages conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to take ownership of issues and drive solutions
Wind turbine design experience
Product or Project Management Experience
Pro-active thinking & action to ensure quality
Strong issue resolution skills and conflict management
Master degree from an accredited university in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent knowledge or experience
EU Work Permit
