Job Description Summary

To be part of the PMO/T&I Engineering and Asset Management team of GE Wind Offshore. The team is responsible for the design and supply of all the PMO/T&I tools for the GE Wind Offshore projects around the world. The team is directing the design, manufacturing and supply of the tools related to the sea transport, road transport, storage, pre assembly and offshore installation of the wind turbines.
The team is also responsible to ensure full integration of tools and overall T&I requirements into the design of the turbine, as well as transferring a full documentation package, ready to be deployed by the PMO T&I Operations. The team is accountable to continuously enhance the performances of PMO by improving transportability and installability of the WTG, and optimizing tools CAPEX footprint.
Reporting to the Lead Structural Manager the candidate will be responsible to cover a wide range of calculation including stress analysis, fatigue and bolt/welds assessment related to the offshore installation tools and equipment (transport frames and lifting tools) required for the transport of components (Nacelle, tower sections and blades).

Significant activities
Perform structural evaluation and calculations for our offshore tools and equipment like transport frames and lifting tools (strength, fatigue, buckling, etc) in accordance with recognized offshore rules and regulations (DNVGL, Eurocode, VDI)
Follow subcontracted activities from engineering aspect and initiate proposal to meet technical requirements as well as cost optimization
Ensure manufacturability of the proposed design as per EN standard
Issue analysis reports and documentation for internal and external client as well as certification body
Develop design from sketch, CAD software and collaborate in design discussions
Perform internal design verification and validation
Review documentation from other departments
Qualifications/Requirements
Master’s degree or equivalent in mechanical or offshore engineering
Should understand analytical calculation and solid theoretical knowledge of physics
Must have experience with ANSYS workbench and good understanding of computer science
NX and AutoCAD software are appreciated
Experience in wind offshore project is a plus
Significant experience in calculation (analytical + FE analysis)
VBA and scripting are appreciated
