Roles and Responsibilities
As the Installation & Repair Tooling/Process Deployment Leader, you will:
Act as the primary liaison between Global Wind Projects & Services (Operations, Tooling Centers, EHS) and Wind Engineering (Services Engineering, Repair Technology, Product Engineering) in the areas of tool / repair developments & deployment.
Support Installation & Services Product Line & Services Engineering in identifying tool / repair needs globally, support building business cases, define tool / repair development specifications, & create testing / validation plans
Lead global validations & Beta Period of tooling/process products by working with Repair Technologies, Platform Leaders, Field Engineering, EHS and etc. to ensure timely and realistic trials; this will include the establishment of validation teams, identification of site / location, logistics, TWPs/WDIs, execution and data collection / report outs
Lead and complete action plans coming out tool/process validations as well as lead continuous improvements as new feedback are received to meet all CTQs
Define global tool/process introduction strategy that contain quantity, packaging / kitting, maintenance / certifications cycles, cost, applicability to poles and affected turbine models
Establish global training requirements & strategy for new tool / repair products; this will include building a curriculum, creating training levels, leading training sessions globally, & any additional knowledge transfer of use, handling, and maintenance of new tool / repair products.
Coordinate the deployment of new tooling / processes with the Global Projects & Services Operations teams; this will include region specific operations strategies, tooling & part procurement, trainings, procedures, etc.
Provide input into New Platforms for New Units across Land & Megawatt Constrained segements.
Partner with key stakeholders and senior leaders to build and execute strategy
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field from an accredited university or college (OR a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of Installation or Repair Field Engineering experience)
Ability and willingness to travel 50% of the time, which includes international travel and must comply with all relevant company travel and tax policies
Desired Characteristics
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university
REDP (Renewable Energy Development Program), RELP (Renewable Energy Leadership Program), FEP (Field Engineering Program) graduate (GE Employee's only)
Prior Installation or Repair Field Engineering experience
Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
Established project management skills.
Proficiency in technical writing and process documentation
