Job Description Summary
Activities contributing to the design and development of products, solutions and systems. Includes activities linked to technical improvement of existing products and components Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance.
Roles and Responsibilities
Understand contractual deliveries (ERs) and obligations for Tower & Foundation activities.
Highlight any ER deviation with GE baseline during tender phase (ITO) and ensure offer alignment with ERs.
Lead execution of engineering tasks during OTR phase required for site suitability of GE product including load assessment, tower primary steel design and tower secondary steel design based on site-specific metocean and soil data.
Identify all necessary deliverables and implement necessary actions to get them delivered on time and within budget.
Define, coordinate and control all activities in GE planning and resource management tool (UDC) with the proper resources assigned by Resource Manager.
Coordinate preparation, review and approve deliverables including tower primary steel reports, secondary steel deliverables and certification documentation (ensure proper storage in DRB, PLM).
Prepare Master Document Register (MDR) with all internal and external project deliverables.
Prepare DM1 for project-specific tower.
Take ownership of project KPIs including OTD and FTY.
Define SOW including detailed activities and list of deliverables for engineering service suppliers required to surges in resource demand. Technical review and approval of supplier offers according to GE process.
Define, coordinate and lead execution of project-specific DTOs, F&As, GE improvements and Cost-Out activities.
Define, coordinate and lead execution of ECOs during project lifecycle (from creation of ECP until CCB). Actively participate in Master Model and technical reviews.
Responsible for full BOM of tower and as well as GE material in foundation.
Define, coordinate and lead execution of all Post-ECO activities (DM2, validation tests, manuals, certifications, supplier qualifications, manufacturing and storage support, T&I support, commissioning support).
Support the resolution of SDRs and NCRs.
Participate in technical review, discussion and costing of customer requests. Identify VORs if applicable.
Ensure product compliance with customer-specific requirements (EHS, regulatory, third-party certification).
Coordinate activities at project level to support project certification.
Be first point of contact and manage interface with external project stakeholders: customer, certification body, foundation subcontractor.
Actively participate in customer meetings.
Provide responses to customer technical queries, efficiently leveraging our global matrixed engineering organization as needed.
Identify risks & associated mitigation plans and communicate to Project Management team.
Contribute to successful project gate reviews.
Mentor team members and drive best practices.
Apply GE work processes and standards.
Prepare Lessons Learnt (LL) covering technical and project management issues to ensure improvement in execution of future projects.
Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in relevant Engineering discipline (Civil/Structural, Mechanical, Electrical).
Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems.
Demonstrated experience in interacting with external and internal project stakeholders and customers.
Fluent in English (written and spoken).
Experience using PLM (Enovia is preferred).
Used to work in global multidisciplinary teams.
Strong, self-directed, collaborative team player with good interpersonal, communication, & presentation skills.
Comfortable to provide technical presentations to peers, customers, and leadership regarding the details of technical issues and project status.
Project Management experience.
Experience in offshore wind industry
Ability to interpret technical drawings, wiring schematics and 3D models.
Experience in definition of technical interfaces among several customer contractors with regards to structural, mechanical and electrical components.
