General Electric Cardiac MR Scientist Hospital Clinic Barcelona (fix term contract) in Barcelona, Spain

Role Summary:

Based on Hospital Clinic of Barcelona, as Cardiac MR Scientist you are responsible for exploring, developing and validating advanced cardiac magnetic resonance imaging applications, in close collaboration with McGill University Health Centre, other clinical and academic research partners, as well as GE colleagues, and for driving the translation of these new applications into product solutions.

It is a fixed term contract for 4 years at Hospital Clinic of Barcelona.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop applications for cardiac MR acquisition, reconstruction, processing, and display by combining expertise of MR physics, engineering, and clinical needs

  • Evaluate and extend new concepts; provide innovations which can be translated into product offerings

  • Contribute to MR scientific societies through publications and presentations of research output

  • Use broad expertise in MR physics and applications to help resolve quality issues

  • Foster partnerships with clinical collaborators to develop clinically relevant solutions Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Ph.D. (or M.Sc. with equivalent experience) in Physics, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field or equivalent knowledge or experience

  • Demonstrated record of innovation in MR physics research, development of new pulse sequences, and/or MR reconstruction methods

  • Strong experience in MR imaging research or closely related field

  • Strong English language oral and written communication skills

  • Can-do attitude, flexible, intellectually curious, willing to work with cross-functional, global team

  • Willingness to travel 10% of time

  • EU Work PermitIf contracted in Spain:Non-national candidates are responsible to know the minimum documentation requirements to be able to be contracted in country: NIE- Social Security Affiliation Number in Spain (NAF) and Bank Account in Spain. They must be in possession of them at the time of start hiring. GE will not sponsor this requirement. Desired Characteristics:

  • Strong clinical and technical knowledge of cardiac MR applications

  • Pulse sequence programming expertise in EPIC

  • MR image reconstruction expertise in Orchestra

  • Programming experience in C/C++ Experience with academic and clinical research collaborations
