General Electric Technical Product Manager - Diagnostics in Bangalore, India

Role Summary:As the Technical Product Manager of Diagnostics, you will lead the technology direction to enable diagnosis of turbine issues, prediction of potential failures, and prescription of recommended actions. A thought leader for your domain, you will serve as the conduit between customer needs and tangible innovation. Your responsibilities will include turning performance data into actionable insights, thereby increasing revenue, reducing costs, and lowering risk for internal and external customers.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Develop lasting solutions for global renewable energy assets that will monitor critical health metrics and deliver actionable insights to optimize performance and reliability

  • Own a complete major product release and multiple concurrent intermediate releases

  • Partner with product managers on product vision, roadmap, scope and feature decisions

  • Collaborate with a cross-skilled pod team, consisting of product management, UX, architecture, engineering, and implementation, to expediently translate product vision into technical solutions

  • Ensure the successful delivery of technical deliverables, including (but not limited to) feature break-down, mock-ups, user stories, backlog grooming, story acceptance, defect management, release management, demo preparation, and program increment (PI) artifacts

  • Actively engage in sprint ceremonies, including (but not limited to) sprint planning, engineering touchpoints, demo reviews, defect reviews, product releases, and retrospectives

  • Develop partnerships with global internal stakeholders to collaborate on detailed product features and ensure cross-domain integration

  • Understand security and compliance requirements; establish seamless integration with cyber security and compliance teams

  • Own the technical strategy and execution of software products, including migration of legacy solutions and delivery of new products on AWS

  • Collaborate with data scientists, data engineers, software developers, and engineers to design, build, test, and deploy data-driven solutions and features

  • Work with highly motivated individuals like yourself to solve complex and interesting data problems that are impactful to our internal and external customers

  • Serve as a data evangelist, championing deployment of machine learning, artificial intelligence, and advanced physics-based analytics techniques

  • Work cross-functionally across engineering, marketing, sales, internal and external customers, analysts and senior management teams to formulate and execute the strategy

  • Develop relationships across GE businesses & sub-businesses, partners, customers and technical experts across industries and geographies

  • Help drive process and tool optimization to deliver products on-time and on-budget

Qualifications/Requirements:• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, mathematics, engineering, or a related field

• Minimum 6 years of experience in product management, strategic consulting or a related field requiring analytical skills and a strategic mindset

Desired Characteristics:

Technical Expertise:

  • Experience with software development techniques, tools and processes like Functional or Object Oriented Programing, Test Driven Development, Agile Project Management, Agile Analytics Development, source control (Git), Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CICD) etc.

  • Hands on experience with building service oriented architectures (REST, WSDL etc.) and web based user interfaces (experience with React.js and Node.js a plus)

  • Ability to exercise technical judgment in solving software engineering challenges involving bug triage, Functional Decomposition of systems etc.

  • Working knowledge of modern data science tools and languages like Python, Pandas, Scala, Spark, Hadoop, Airflow, Matplotlib, Plotly, Jupyter Notebook or other similar technologies

  • Ability to be an influential member of a highly integrated team composed of both technical and non-technical members.

  • Ability to explain complex concepts in simple and concise terms

  • Proven record of strong analytical and problem-solving skills, effectively evaluates information/data to make decisions; anticipates obstacles and develops plans to resolve

  • Experience designing, deploying, or operating applications / infrastructure in a public or private cloud environment

  • Experience applying cyber security principles throughout the product development lifecycle

  • Experience in commercializing advanced analytics solutions (experience with SaaS is a plus)

Business Acumen:

  • Renewable Energy experience

  • Experience with wind turbine diagnostics and/or prognostics

  • Working knowledge of wind turbine operation, controls, and SCADA reporting

  • Strong business analysis, problem solving, and strategy development skills

  • Evangelizes new technology, predicts trends, and identifies new opportunities based on trends

  • Identifies the customer’s business and strategic needs, concerns, and desires for the value delivery capabilities of the products

  • Establishes relationships in the market intelligence and research community
