General Electric O&M - Warehouse and Purchasing Specialist in Baglan Bay, United States

Role Summary:

To manage the sourcing at site of materials, spares and tools. To drive best in class stores management.

Essential Responsibilities:

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Comply with Site Quality Procedures, Work Instructions, and EHS Policies and Procedures

  • Re order consumables stock using auto requisitions function and liaise with Maintenance Dept to ensure stock levels reviewed and adjusted as required

  • Maintain stock levels and ensure stores area is kept tidy

  • Timely processing of goods received physically and electronically using site CMMS system (Engica)

  • Perform monthly stock takes

  • Forklift duties in relation to goods received

  • Perform analysis to obtain optimal price and quantity buys

  • Responsible for formation and timely processing of purchase orders for spares from requisition status including supplier acknowledgementAny Other Reasonable Duties:

  • Any other duties as directed by the Commercial Manager as deemed to be within his/her capabilities

  • The Warehouse/Purchasing Specialist is responsible for the Health and Safety of him/her-self, any contractors working under his/her direction and in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Educated to GCSE standard

  • Counter Balance forklift licence

  • Good standard of written and spoken English

  • Experience of managing warehouse and associated Inventory systems

  • Experience of working with IT systems and database

  • Managing and sourcing of materials and spares within corporate guidelines

  • Working with competitive bidding and vendor analysis

  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with others

  • Able to work flexibly to meet needs of business

  • Full UK driving licence

  • Confident and assertive

  • Ability to prioritise own workload in a dynamic environment

  • Good working knowledge of windows & Microsoft packages
