Job Description Summary

In this position, you will be responsible for driving in regional technical accounting compliance, financial & operational internal controls, process simplification, & operational excellence to deliver accurate actual financial reporting & analysis. This position requires you to have subject matter knowledge & experience, more independence in problem solving & decision making. You will be also responsible for direct people management responsibility including staffing & performance development and monitoring Shared Services Center performance (Genpact).

Job Description

What we’ll expect from you

  • Responsible for general accounting and policy application for all cycles, supported by Genpact and Business Center of Excellence (CoE).

  • Drive consistent and effective commercial and technical controllership across the region, including application of revenue recognition, monitoring of commercial and non-commercial balance sheet accounts, liaising with project controllers’ teams to support the finance and operational leadership.

  • Participate in key operating mechanisms such as quarterly CFO risk reviews and controllership reviews with key operations and financial management personnel.

  • Understand and interpret applicable Enterprise Standards, SOP and Process Maps to deliver globally competitive accounting services

  • Drive consistent and effective policies and procedures during monthly/quarterly close process including account reconciliations, account reconciliation audits, GE Corporate Data Request (DR) submissions, representation letters and adjusting entries.

  • Use basic influencing skills to deliver on assigned goals

  • Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley 404 requirements.

  • Partner with GE Corporate Audit Staff and regional Finance Managers for internal GE compliance reviews. Drive closure of open audit issues and proactively work to prevent future issues / manage risk. Lead resulting corrective action process implementation and follow up throughout the organization.

  • Work closely with financial and operational leadership to pro-actively assess and manage financial risk.

You bring a strong background in

  • Accounting bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college and several years of experience in Accounting Operations

Desired Characteristics

  • CPA / CA or GE Corporate Audit Staff

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate complex business issues in a clear/concise manner. Fully English fluent is required.

  • Strong analytical skills: able to clearly link financial results to operational performance drivers, generate alternatives and drive positive change

  • Experience leading in a global business environment; experience leading team members

  • Sound understanding of global process and transactional flows

  • Clear thinking/problem solving successfully led projects/process improvements within operations/finance functions; able to quickly grasp new ideas

  • Adaptable/Flexible: being open to change in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances, and/or to work in ambiguous situations

  • Integrity: accepting and adhering to high moral, ethical, and personal values in decisions, communications, actions and when dealing with others
