Job Description Summary
In this position, you will be responsible for driving in regional technical accounting compliance, financial & operational internal controls, process simplification, & operational excellence to deliver accurate actual financial reporting & analysis. This position requires you to have subject matter knowledge & experience, more independence in problem solving & decision making. You will be also responsible for direct people management responsibility including staffing & performance development and monitoring Shared Services Center performance (Genpact).
Executive - Controllership Management will be your People Leader.
What we’ll expect from you
Responsible for general accounting and policy application for all cycles, supported by Genpact and Business Center of Excellence (CoE).
Drive consistent and effective commercial and technical controllership across the region, including application of revenue recognition, monitoring of commercial and non-commercial balance sheet accounts, liaising with project controllers’ teams to support the finance and operational leadership.
Participate in key operating mechanisms such as quarterly CFO risk reviews and controllership reviews with key operations and financial management personnel.
Understand and interpret applicable Enterprise Standards, SOP and Process Maps to deliver globally competitive accounting services
Drive consistent and effective policies and procedures during monthly/quarterly close process including account reconciliations, account reconciliation audits, GE Corporate Data Request (DR) submissions, representation letters and adjusting entries.
Use basic influencing skills to deliver on assigned goals
Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley 404 requirements.
Partner with GE Corporate Audit Staff and regional Finance Managers for internal GE compliance reviews. Drive closure of open audit issues and proactively work to prevent future issues / manage risk. Lead resulting corrective action process implementation and follow up throughout the organization.
Work closely with financial and operational leadership to pro-actively assess and manage financial risk.
You bring a strong background in
- Accounting bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college and several years of experience in Accounting Operations
CPA / CA or GE Corporate Audit Staff
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate complex business issues in a clear/concise manner. Fully English fluent is required.
Strong analytical skills: able to clearly link financial results to operational performance drivers, generate alternatives and drive positive change
Experience leading in a global business environment; experience leading team members
Sound understanding of global process and transactional flows
Clear thinking/problem solving successfully led projects/process improvements within operations/finance functions; able to quickly grasp new ideas
