Job Description Summary
Engineering associated with the manufacturing process. Impacts quality of own work and the work of others on the team. Executes standard operational/technical tasks typically subject to instructions and work routines.
Roles and Responsibilities
Support shop floor to deliver business results while encouraging input from area personnel working within a self-directed workforce (Teaming) environment.
Exhibit ownership and take responsibility in attaining all aspects of production operation including safety, scheduling, quality, and team development in assigned areas.
Determine safe manufacturing processes that produce a quality product in the most efficient method of manufacture.
Design and implement manufacturing processes and systems for control and replenishment of materials.
Plan and implement process-engineering activities for new product development and current product support.
Provide manufacturing method development and improvement for current and new products.
Participate in the development of mid and long term plans outlining projects to support the business in meeting its objectives with a strong focus on cost, part quality and cycle time.
Investigate and apply new technology in support of site growth plans.
Conduct training, process planning, evaluate operating methods, select controls, and specifies tools, fixtures and gages necessary to repeatedly build conforming hardware.
Basic understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. Good understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
Assist supervisors and production associates in resolving manufacturing process problems through a drive to root cause and permanent corrective action. Explains technical information to others.
Execute manufacturing-related quality planning activities.
Pursue continuous improvement for quality and cost reductions in designated area.
Promote internal and external customer satisfaction and develop positive design engineering relationships.
Act as change agent, understanding and moving the operation toward benchmarked, best of class performance.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Job Family Group(s)/Function(s)).

Experience in manufacturing in a regulated environment.
Direct experience with metal machining processes or strong education background with aptitude and desire to learn from experienced personnel.
Experience with machining tool and fixture designs or improvement.
Strong background in the interpretation of engineering drawings / specifications and manufacturing processes.
Electrical discharge machining (EDM) a plus.
Ability to make data driven decisions and utilize Six Sigma and Lean tools.
Knowledge of ISO / quality procedures.
Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
