Title: Steam Power Business Operations Internship/Co-Op –Summer 2022

As a Co-op/Intern, you will:

  • Receive business training, mentorship, and coaching from world-class business leaders and operational experts

  • Grow your technical & business expertise in your chosen field and expand your skills in new areas.

  • Have the opportunity to drive real meaningful change in a way that improves outcomes for our customers, drives business performance, and enhances job satisfaction for our working level teams

  • Learn and implement LEAN tools and methodology that can be used in future business scenarios and roles

Responsibilities include : Work directly with our service teams to track, analyze and improve business performance versus Key Performance Indicators across the $1B Steam Power Americas portfolio. Focus areas will include safety, quality, delivery, and financial performance which will provide for a broad and diverse insight into the business. Use LEAN tools to identify pain points and areas of improvement for our customers and working teams. Use Problem Solving techniques to identify root causes and implement sustainable counter measures. Play a leadership role in the planning and execution of “Kaizen” events.

  • May/June to August 2022(Summer)

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Must have one to two semesters left prior to graduation and be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate program in an engineering discipline as listed below.

  • Following majors accepted: Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Material Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering.

  • Must maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (without rounding).

  • Must submit your application for employment through https://www.ge.com/university

  • Must be willing to take a drug test as part of the selection process

  • Must be willing to submit to a background investigation as part of the selection process

  • Must be 18 years of age or older

  • Must be able to develop and maintain good customer relationships

  • Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license

  • Must be willing to work in geographical area specified by the business

  • Must have the ability to work in the US for an unlimited amount of time without sponsorship
