General Electric Staff UX Design Researcher in Atlanta, Georgia
As a Staff UX Design Researcher, you will lead major product UX engagement, contributing to the understanding of our customers and the users of our products and help shape an industry. You will lead small to medium sized enterprise projects, partnered with an Interaction Designer, working as a team throughout the design and development lifecycle. As one of the first to join this new design team, you will have a big impact on design decisions, and work as a strategic partner with product teams
You understand and champion the importance of research to the design process and act as an active member of the user experience team.
Propose design or product solutions based on research and synthesis outcomes.
Select and use appropriate design research methods to address design opportunities.
Plan and conduct interview sessions with users and stakeholders, including executives.
Builds consensus among individuals and groups.
Identify and summarize meaningful insights derived from design research
Lead multiple projects of various sizes in a cross-functional environment
Advocate for user research and help champion buy in from stakeholders and businesses
Produce and guide effective documentation of research and testing including notes, photos, video and resulting analysis
Document and communicate user findings through detailed personas, journey maps, and other story telling techniques.
Participate in and begin to influence the business-wide discussions relative to the future direction of user experience initiatives
Lead evaluation of current and emerging design, technology, industry, and market trends.
Demonstrate a mastery of Agile / Lean UX methodologies Qualifications/Requirements: Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Cognitive or Experimental Psychology, Human Computer Interaction, Human Factors; or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math); or equivalent experience
A minimum of 8 years of professional experience in product or service design OR Master’s degree with 5 years of experience in product or service design. Eligibility Requirements:
