General Electric Staff Technical Project Manager in Atlanta, Georgia

Job Description Summary

In this role, you will be a part of multi-year GE strategic Cyber Digital Asset Management program approved by GE Board of Directors, you will be responsible for driving key projects to deliver 95% asset visibility and improve the security posture of the company. You would collaborate with GE Businesses, CoreTech & Cyber Product leads and Cyber ops teams to drive asset visibility and coverage across GE’s IT and OT asset footprint. She / He would prioritize critical activities to address the risks and drive comprehensive projects and initiatives to drive compliance and ensure clean asset management across the enterprise.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with business and functional partners in defining the Asset Management strategy roadmap and execution plan

  • Drive technology discussion and strategy in line with business needs and company reference architecture

  • Outline multi-generational project strategy aligned to deliver on the expected outcomes

  • Define execution methodologies and project management practices to be followed by all projects within the program

  • Organize project teams comprising from internal and external technical and functional experts based on budget, scope and timeline

  • Manage day-to-day execution of multiple interdependent projects by working directly with global technical teams. Manage procurement and onboarding process

  • Coordinate execution across multiple projects and drive shared approach and outcomes tracking

  • Support execution team with resolution of roadblocks and interdependencies. Partner with technical and functional teams external to the project to ensure their tasks are completed as required

  • Manage project risks, scope changes and other non-standard events throughout the life of the project

  • Manage stakeholder communication and progress reporting at various levels of the organization including leadership and executives

  • Ensure quality of deliverables is verified and matching stakeholder expectations

  • Track project outcomes realization and customer satisfaction levels through established metrics against service level. Ensure lessons learned are collected

  • Perform initial and final financial reviews, and ensure ongoing budget tracking

  • Find and interpret data sources and work with central execution teams to manage large amounts of data related to the core program, merge data sources together necessary for program decisions, and communicate insights/ findings in simplified way to support ongoing adoption of asset management principles and strategies

  • Convert business needs into functional specifications to define product criteria and exhibit a deep understanding of domain, industry trends and potential impact

  • Partner with IT & functional shared and matrixed global teams to enable and execute vision, drive and manage shared teams to deliver, manage financials

  • Maintain a project dashboard across all IT projects in the region and provide weekly status updates on cost, schedule, resources, benefits

Basic Qualifications & Eligibility Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology (IT), Computer Science, or “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) plus a minimum of 6 years experience

  • Minimum 2 years of project management experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience with IT/Digital operations

  • GE Leadership Program Graduates will get credit towards relevant work experience, commensurate to the program they have completed.

  • Proven experience using project management methodologies to deliver business value and drive significant change across an organization

  • Experience managing budgets including budget, spend, and liquidations

  • Strong understanding and knowledge of various project and portfolio management methodologies with track record of implementing shared standards for large organizations

  • Strong leadership skills with ability to influence outcomes and organize teams to attain shared goals

  • Excellent influencing, interpersonal and communications skills (both written and verbal) with all levels of an organization

  • Self-starter - requires minimal direction to accomplish goals

  • Strong track record of understanding and interest in current and emerging technologies demonstrated through training, job experience and / or industry activities

  • Strong team player – collaborates well with others to solve problems and actively incorporates input from various sources

  • Experience working with others on a global basis

  • Demonstrated customer focus – evaluates decisions through the eyes of the customer, builds strong customer relationships, creates processes with customer viewpoint and partners with customers to help shape their future initiatives

  • Strong analytical and strong problem-solving skills -communicates in a clear and succinct manner and effectively evaluates information / data to make decisions, anticipates obstacles and develops plans to resolve, creates actionable strategies and operational plans

  • Change oriented – actively generates process improvements, champions and drives change initiatives, confronts difficult circumstances in creative ways, balances multiple and competing priorities and executes accordingly

  • PMP, ScrumMaster or related Project Management certifications

  • Proficiency with MS Office suite of products such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

  • Demonstrated ability leading programs and process improvement in IT services/operations or Inventory optimization.

  • Proactively engages with cross-functional teams to resolve issues using critical thinking and analytical skills and best practices

  • Adopts a holistic systems perspective. Empathizes with multiple points of view. Challenges program/product planning assumptions
