Job Description Summary
Responsible for multiple projects in a technical domain as a technical expert or internal consultant. Will work on highly complex projects that require in-depth knowledge of two or more specialized architecture areas. Will across multiple technical or functional domains.
In this role you will:
Enforce the Architecture and Engineering team designing and deploying the new Backbone and Global POP Locations worldwide.
Develop a Configuration Management and Service Orchestration architecture.
Participate in the domain technical and business discussions relative to future architect direction.
Assist in the analysis, design and development of a roadmap and implementation based upon a current vs. future state in a cohesive architecture viewpoint.
Gather and analyze data and develop architectural requirements at project level.
Participate in the infrastructure architecture governance model.
Support design and deployment of infrastructure solutions meeting standardization, consolidation, TCO, security, regulatory compliance and application system qualities, for different businesses.
Research and evaluate emerging technology, industry and market trends to assist in project development and/or operational support activities.
Coach and mentor team members
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
A minimum of 8 years of professional experience OR a Master’s degree in a relevant technical area with 6 years of professional experience.
Experience in architecting and designing Large Enterprise grade IP/MPLS Network solutions.
Proven design deployment and configuration experience with Cisco technologies
Desired Experience in configuration management/service orchestration using Cisco NSO (formerly Tail-f NCS) and/or other similar technology.
Experience automating SDN/NFV/NFVI Infrastructure is a big plus
Demonstrated hands-on experience with BGP, OSPF, Segment Routing, MP-BGP-VPNs, VLL, VPLS, VxLAN based services.
Experience should include CPE configuration, service provisioning and activation.
Quality of Service (QoS) and Class of Service (CoS) Technologies
MPLS networking with VPLS, VRF, LDP, RSVP-TE, FRR, VRRP/HSRP, EVPN, LSPs, 802.1Q/p/x, DSCP
Multicast and Multicast routing protocols: PIM-DM, PIM-SM, MBGP, MOSPF, MSDP, SSM, IGMPv3, CGMP is a plus
Experience in utilizing network management tools and network diagnostic tools to help with network tuning and packet analysis.
Ethernet Sniffers and Analyzers -- Network Instruments Observer, Wireshark, Network Associates SNIFFER, JDSU DA-3xxx, etc.
Functional knowledge of Amazon Web Services
Experience with various development frameworks/technologies such as: Ansible/Ansible Tower, Java, Python, & Restful API
Advanced knowledge of one or more scripting languages, Python preferred
Demonstrate knowledge of business' structure (P&Ls) and the interplay of functions to support business goals; demonstrate knowledge of the business products, key processes, suppliers, customers and market/competitors.
