Role Summary/Purpose

The On-Site Services (OSS) Service Manager leads and drives execution of all On-Site Services power generation repair scopes. He/she is responsible for project management & planning, technician leadership, problem resolution and technical support across steam turbine, generator, gas turbine, and Inspection & Life Extension Services (I&LES) repair scopes for assigned projects in North America and/or Latin America

Essential Responsibilities

Own preparation, execution, closeout and performance of assigned OSS repairs projects

Drive on-site accountability for Environtmental Health and Safety (EHS), quality, & on-time delivery / productivity processes. Provide real-time OSS issue resolution, EHS and Quality stand-downs and critical issue escalation

Advise, drive and influence a team of OSS supervisors, work leaders, & technicians on assigned projects and provide off-site technical direction and support

Support technician and tooling mobilization & demobilization, documentation & logistics

Manage internal and external customer relationship as required

Be single point of contact and support detailed outage planning with customer service leaders and outage leaders

Manage 3rd party supplier operational interface when peak support is necessary

Visit key active sites and perform EHS and Quality audits

Support and contribute to Quality Improvement Processes, participate in Root Cause Analysis and provide feedback from lessons learned events and share experience with OSS and key stakeholders

Support business development as required during development of proposals, estimates and risk reviews

Monitor OSS billing processes for projects as applicable

Qualifications/Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (Or Associate’s Degree from an

accredited college or university with a minimum of 2 years of professional work experience)

Minimum of 5 additional years of experience supporting Field Services, Service Center

repairs, equipment and tooling or similar industry equivalent

Eligibility Requirement

Ability and willingness to travel occasionally (Spring & Fall primarily – approx. 5%)

English speaking. Spanish language skills an advantage

Understanding of mechanical engineering, machining, repairs, inspection & testing for rotating equipment

Willing to work flexible hours as required by customer service demands

LEAN or equivalent quality experience

Project management skills

Good oral / written communication and integration skills

Time management and organization skills – sense of urgency

Ability to coach and develop members on a remote team

Ability to cope with multiple complex situations in parallel

Negotiation experience

Open communication style and proven ability to develop team relationships

Ability to create positive change, think creatively and move quickly
