General Electric Senior Technical Product Manager | Remote in Atlanta, Georgia

Job Description Summary

As part of GE Corporate, supporting the Corporate Systems team, the Senior Technical Product Manager will be responsible for partnering with functional peers within the Global Law & Policy and Controllership departments to drive the strategy, product roadmap & implementation of various digital solutions, with a prominent focus on supporting GE’s SOX compliance program. The products may include data analysis & visualizations, data science engagements, intelligent product automation and other digital applications.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing product backlog and roadmap for multiple products; follow product management processes (agile methodologies, lean canvas) and be a product expert

  • Accountable for technical designs/documentation to ensure completeness and compliance with organizational development standards

  • Lead engineering team across sprints and ensure rigorous testing & delivery

  • Provide maintenance and ongoing support for existing product releases; triage production issues (data, code, performance, security, etc.), identify root cause and drive corrective actions. Act as liaison and facilitate continuity between infrastructure support and application development teams

  • Develop functional domain expertise , identify opportunities, influence client demand, refine/prioritize requirements in accordance with the understanding of customer needs

  • Act as a product evangelist to across all stakeholder teams to promote and deliver a simplified, innovative and seamless digital service/customer experience

  • Establish relationships and work cross functionally across engineering, business owners, and users to execute the strategy


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, computer science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) and 4 years of relevant experience.

  • 4+ years of technical experience along with established leadership credentials across disciplines and functions within a product.

  • GE Leadership Program Graduates will get credit towards relevant work experience, commensurate to the program they have completed.

Desired Characteristics


  • Professional experience as a product owner, or in an agile SW development environment

  • Experience working in Agile engineering environment

  • Knowledge of Oracle and Greenplum / MemSQL databases, SQL, ETL tools (Informatica, Talend, etc.)

  • Knowledge of visualization tools (Spotfire, Tableau, etc.),

  • Familiarity with big data and distributed systems technologies (Hadoop, Spark, etc.)

  • Familiarity with versatile implementation options, including tools and libraries specific to data analysis and manipulation (Java, Node.js, Python, R, etc.)

  • Knowledge of data science techniques and concepts

  • Experience with AWS Lambda, AWS associate or professional certification preferred

  • Deep functional understanding of SOX controls and Segregation of Duties specific to ERP systems

Business Acumen:

  • Demonstrates customer focus – evaluates decisions through the eyes of the customer; builds strong customer relationships

  • Strong business analysis and problem-solving skills, eager to learn the stakeholders’ challenges & biggest pain points

  • Demonstrates deep knowledge of technologies in the market to help buy vs make recommendations; passionate about solving challenges with emerging technologies
