Job Description Summary
Gas Power DT is looking for a Principal Agile Transformer to help with deploying the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) across Gas Power, specifically the full configuration of version 5.x. To succeed in this role, you must have substantial experience in driving large SAFe transformations across the enterprise. Experience with value streams and lean is essential. You must be an effective communicator at all levels from C-Suite to Business Managers to agile teams.

As a Principal Agile Transformer you will serve as an evangelist and accelerator for adoption of agile ways of working. Your primary focus is to use your extensive experience to drive the adoption of SAFe, lean-agile practices and practices in GE Gas Power. You will help lead the organization’s lean-agile transformation, coaching leaders, functional partners, and agile teams in the new practices and mindsets. You will ensure the adoption of standard work and tools as defined. You will identify and manage organizational impediments and drive relentless improvement. You will be a member of the LACE, and help train and certify our employees. You will mentor and coach more junior RTEs in Gas Power DT as they launch Agile Release Trains.
The ideal candidate must demonstrate mastery in SAFe’s 5.x Core Competencies of Agile Product Management, Lean Portfolio Management, Team & Technical Agility, Enterprise Solution Delivery & Lean-Agile Leadership.
In this role, you will:
Directly contribute to the adoption of our ‘full configuration” of the Scaled Agile Framework in Gas Power
Assess and enhance core competency areas by developing coaching plans and conducting maturity assessments.
Coach individuals and teams to facilitate adoption and improvement in agile methodologies and principles
Conduct SAFe training classes
Establish and ensure adoption of standards, ceremonies, and best practices for agile ways of working
Build a change culture with stakeholder management, operational readiness & buy-in with strong communication
Demonstrates mastery on the concept of flow in software engineering. Drives practices ensuring flow
Escalate, remove and track organizational impediments
Leads the adoption of lean-agile (Scrum/SAFe/XP/DevOps/Flow) practices into the value steam
Constantly operate with a customer centric mindset and ability to analyze most important components of the framework that can help drive business solutions and improve customer experience
Establishes strong, effective and collaborative across the organization
Think with the mind of the customer at all times, helping teams ensure solutions to improve the customer experience and delight their customers. Proven understanding of customer journey and behaviors
Familiarity with agile planning tools (e.g., Aha! Miro, Confluence, Rally).
Bachelor’s degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math)
15 years of experience working in an agile delivery environment
5+ years of experience working in a scaled agile environment with SAFe
Scaled Agile Professional Certification (SPC)
Excellent problem solving and critical thinking ability with strong understanding of Agile methods (XP, SAFe, Scrum, BDD, TDD, automation)
Ability to think and execute at both a strategic and operational level
Demonstrates mastery and coach on the intricacies of change management in large organizations
Experience developing and tracking metrics and using them to make data-driven decisions.
Ability to handle and prioritize demands
Expert in problem identification & decision making. Uses system thinking.
Builds an environment of trust and mutual influence
Actively embraces new methods and practices that increase efficiency and effectiveness
