Role Summary:

This position will lead in the areas of business intelligence and applications management to establish operational and Brilliant Plant strategies for the Asheville, NC facility/shop floor. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for project management and end-to-end solution design/delivery of key Aviation and Digital initiatives that intersect with processes and solutions across various functions using GE Digital applications and analytic tools.

Essential Responsibilities:

As the Sr Application Operations Engineer, you will provide software expertise, create functional specifications, design documents, and build solutions to meet the needs of the GE Aviation manufacturing environment in executing the Brilliant Factory strategy and by assisting in creating digital thread solutions.

Additionally, you will:

  • Build deep software and technology expertise across the Brilliant Manufacturing Suite of solutions from GE Digital (e.g. Predix, Proficy, Predator, etc.)

  • Further build out expertise in other systems within use across GE’s SCIT and develop a full understanding of how to replace/interface with these systems and the Brilliant Manufacturing Suite.

  • Define requirements, create functional specifications and designs and build and implement applications that meet the needs of the business and enhance the Brilliant Factory suite of solutions.

  • Be a strong steward and contributor to the Brilliant Factory reference architecture both in terms of the applications stacks and integrations and ensure the standards are followed in building solutions for the business.

  • Identify and understand Hooksett’s requirements working with the manufacturing and Brilliant Factory program leaders and solution architects

  • Work with the technology teams within GE Digital and GE’s strategic partners to determine the best solutions and best practices to apply to SCIT facilities.

  • Operate in a matrix team working on brilliant factory initiatives.

  • Interact with the project and development teams in Hooksett and across GE Aviation to provide updates and to gather feedback.

  • Anticipate challenges and resolve conflicts.

  • Leverage commonalty between SCIT facilities, see the trends and be an ambassador on how to position digital solutions effectively to drive change within GE Aviation. Qualifications/Requirements: Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of professional experience OR high school diploma / GED plus 9 years of professional experienceEligibility Requirements:

  • Must be willing to work out of an office located in Asheville, NC Desired Characteristics:

  • Strong project management skills with proven track record of successful application delivery.

  • Hands-on experience with at least one of major BI platforms (Business Objects, Cognos, Crystal Reports, OBIEE, SSRS, SSAS) as well as familiarity with some

  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills (including formal documentation) as well as strong presentation and collaboration skills.

  • Documentation must resonate with appropriate audience.

  • Strong in the use of Web/Cloud based technologies and MS Suite: including MS Access and MS Visio.

  • Expertise in SQL in business, manufacturing, and machine analytics.

  • Experience with RDBMS and Oracle, SQL Server.

  • Small Systems and report development and implementation experience in a manufacturing realm.

  • Knowledge of design, build and test phases of Software Development Lifecycles (SDLC) /methodologies i.e. waterfall, agile.

  • Hands on experience ETL (Extract-Transform-Load) tools.
