General Electric Lead Finance Specialist 2 - Financial Reporting in Asheville, North Carolina

Role Summary:

The Financial Controls Analyst is dynamic role that plays an important role in enforcing financial controls within the business. Responsible for driving technical accounting compliance, financial and operational internal controls, process simplification, and operational excellence to deliver accurate actual financial reporting and analysis.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Manage transactions originating from customer relationship tool for initial project setup

  • Adhere to financial controls documentation to ensure compliance to business policies

  • Assist Project Manager in setup of new projects or questions regarding existing processes

  • Process invoice assuring compliance and completeness with customer purchase orders/contracts

  • Manage Billing Quality metrics to confirm resolution of customer invoice disputes

  • Assist Project Managers with billing event maintenance and invoice approvals

  • Interface with collectors to resolve customer invoice disputes

  • Interact with Global Tax Team with Sales Tax and Value Added Tax compliance

  • Assist in executing and testing business requirements related to Corporate Enterprise Standards compliance

  • Manage customer address records for Nuclear business

  • Ensure all system records reflect customer documentation

  • Assist in monthly closing of the Account Receivable financial accounting systems module including detailed issue investigation and resolution

  • Work with Information Management team to test enhancements made to financial processes

  • Implement transfer pricing methodology for international project with guidance from the Tax Director

  • Review and complete Account Reconciliations as a member of the controllership team

  • Assist the team working with KPMG and Corporate Audit Staff to resolve any financial reportingissues identified during the audit

  • Completion of controllership audit request for KPMG and Corporate Audit Staff

  • Develop and provide training, as necessary

  • Contribute to department and organization special projects as assigned

  • Document policies, procedures and workflow for assigned areas of responsibility

  • Drive process and issue resolution and push for simplification

  • Enforce Controllership in accordance with GE and GEH Policies and Procedures

  • Ensure all systems and processes adhere toGE General Accounting Procedures (GAP) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and recommend and implement enhancements as changes warrant


  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial role
