Job Description Summary

The Asheville Business Leader will perform the daily operations of the plant to ensure reliability and consistency on the production lines. This role is responsible for leading the team to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives across all shifts. High levels of operational judgment and cross-functional collaboration are necessary to achieve expected outcomes. Operating with moderate autonomy and displaying influential leadership will be required for this role.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manages business performance in the Asheville production facility to reach defined targets in safety, quality, delivery, and cost. Team management of salaried employees to include production supervisors who oversee hourly employees.

  • Coaches and develops team members to meet performance expectations, achieve career goals, and use our lean operating system to deliver value.

  • Influences the development of strategy for the area of responsibility, including control of resources, process standardization, capital investment, and policy formulation. Leads amongst peers at the staff level; inspires and motivates change through an innovative approach to achieving long term goals.

  • A relentless problem solver: ability to identify challenges through daily management, Genba, and operating rhythms; coach team to solve the issues most impactful to improving products and processes. Stays informed of industry trends that may influence the way we work and business strategy.

  • Uses high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems in areas of operations and manufacturing. Possesses the ability to assess quality of information given and ask relevant questions to stakeholders.

  • Able to challenge the status quo and influence difficult decisions; owns outcomes. Sets expectations of team and others and drives accountability through direct conversations. Resourceful in seeking external perspectives and solutions through building a network of peers and leaders outside of own function to help arrive at decisions.

  • May lead cross-functional teams or projects with varying resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years Manufacturing experience) + minimum of 5 years Manufacturing or Operations experience
