In this key role you will test and troubleshoot software applications and products. Working with the latest proven Microsoft technology, HP Unified Functional Tester and Selenium automated test tools, you will create test plans and automated test suites. You will be an integral part of the software development team, working together with talented software developers and other testers to bring state of the art, new software applications and products to market.
In this role, you will:
Perform all appropriate manual and automated testing to validate software functionality, performance and scalability
Plan, Commit and Communicate test project status to Agile scrum team and stakeholders Qualifications/Requirements: Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or in “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a QA Engineer or Software Developer, possessing well rounded skillsEligibility Requirements:
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. GE may agree to sponsor an individual for an employment visa now or in the future if there is a shortage of individuals with particular skills.
Must be willing to work out of an office located in Chicago, IL Desired Characteristics:
Experience developing GUI and API test scripts using HP Unified Functional Tester and/or Selenium automated testing tools
Object-oriented (OO) development experience and automation scripting are a must.
REST and Java experience a plus
Good understanding of software development lifecycle
Ability to work with cross functional teams
Personal drive to achieve world class software development
Comfort level with iterative development and a demonstrated ability to work successfully within a team
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical and problem management skills and meticulous attention to detail
