General Electric Senior Environmental Health & Safety Manager in Arkansas City, Kansas

Role Summary:The Senior Environmental Health & Safety Manager reports to the Executive - Plant Management. This role is the EHS department manager for an 800,000 square foot aircraft engine repair and assembly plant. In this role, you own the EHS long term strategy as well as day to day execution managing our safety teams, policies and procedures, as well as employee engagement and culture across the facility.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Set long term EHS vision and strategy for all business units at the location

  • Provide day-to-day EHS support for that facility in collaboration with the site leadership team & local union

  • Manage the site Voluntary Protect Programs teams and certification through engaging employees

  • Manage all environmental compliance programs

Own all EHS policy and procedure management


  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (Or a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 8 years of experience in an EHS related field)

  • Minimum of 5 additional years of experience in EHS - Fixed Facilities.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects.

  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
