Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities


  • Act as safety ambassador and promote a strong safety culture. This includes leading and participating in regular safety education meetings at the site level. Lead and ensure compliance to applicable policies, including health, safety, and environment.

  • Monitor the compliance of safe work practices and use of PPE in the field – use positive reinforcement to correct behavior

  • Assure all equipment, building, and company policies conform to all federal, state, and city regulatory agencies: OSHA, EPA, building codes.

  • Activate and coordinate emergency response teams in the event of natural disasters

Procurement and Contracting

  • Work in conjunction with the Finance, Sourcing, and Procurement team to optimize negotiated relationships; ensure that site teams comply with procurement policies and procedures

  • Manage supplier performance and costs. This includes preparing KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), annual forecasts, forecast updates, monitoring costs/POs and ensuring all services are delivered in accordance with scope as defined in the POs. Participate in contract negotiation, renewals, and extensions.


  • Communicate professionally and respectfully with all company associates, both in written and verbal conversation

  • Create a cohesive line of communication between the maintenance department and different plant / corporate departments. Communicate openly and frequently with key stakeholders to keep them apprised of status.

  • Strong teaming, negotiation skills and ability to successfully influence others through collaboration within and across organizations. Must be able to deliver clear, concise, and timely oral and written communications.

Leadership, Strategy, & Execution

  • Create a positive working environment for all associates, support continuous improvement, employee empowerment, problem solving skills, increase technical knowledge level of staff, reinforce company philosophy, and policies while treating every individual with respect.

  • Review of operational and maintenance Standard Operating Procedures and ensure compliance to Policies, Procedures, Standards and Process Documents

  • Be effective at scheduling associates and contract service providers to optimize use of time and skillset, including establishing and reviewing schedules

  • Coach and mentor team members to provide support on technical issues, and help them develop professionally and personally

  • Manages all fleet vehicles, includes certifying staff for use on certain vehicles

  • Proactively identify improvements and drive use of information systems that increase efficiency and effectiveness of the maintenance team and maintenance tasks.

  • Research and evaluate latest industry trends. Implement and share best practices in maintenance execution. Work effectively across organizations and sites to promote best practice sharing.

  • Be a key contributor in the Facilities disaster management and business continuity / recovery process.

  • Execute facility and equipment inspections to identify and resolve issues. Plan and oversee all repair and installation activities and ensure proper repair capability on all key equipment and systems.

  • Ensure implementation of preventive maintenance (PM) program to ensure that all building systems, elements, and components are maintained and serviced according to industry standards and manufacturer requirements

  • Track maintenance performance data trends and execute improvement action plan. Develop Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) strategy with Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) and implement robust Preventive Maintenance (PM) schedule based on Original Equipment.


  • Perform monthly review of expenses related to maintenance, capital projects, and third-party contracted services; control the budget for maintenance activity, update plans and projections accordingly

  • Participate in compliant asset management and disposition. Maintain adequate tools and spare parts inventory with cost effective justification.

  • Required Qualifications

  • For roles outside of the USA- This role requires significant experience in the Manufacturing & Facility Management. Knowledge level is comparable to a Master's degree from an accredited university or college ( or a high school diploma with relevant experience).

  • For roles in USA - Master's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Job Family Group(s)/Function(s)).
