General Electric C&C Supplier Quality Engineer in Ankara, Turkey

Job Description Summary

Drive quality for assigned suppliers, including quality plan implementation. Select suppliers through qualification processes. Own supplier results, drive improvements utilizing supplier scorecards. Own supplier audits, ensuring compliance, and driving improvement plans where needed. In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.

Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Get acquainted of and comply with the Suppliers Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position.

  • Assure supplier compliance to Hydro Suppliers guidelines and regulatory requirements through supplier monitoring process.

  • Track and drive progress against roadmap commitments with regular reports to stakeholders and management.

  • Execute activities to drive quality, delivery and compliance excellence within the C&C supply base under scope.

  • Supplier on-boarding and qualification – Assess suppliers QMS through audits, assess suppliers’ capability through technical assessment.

  • Suppliers’ assessment and development – Contribute to the supplier performance rating process, Review/update supplier’s qualification status based on their performance rate, initiate and manage supplier Q development and improvement actions

  • Implement Kick-off meetings where required (PO KoM) – Organize Kick-off meetings with suppliers and GE Representatives, review supplier quality documentation where needed (ITP, procedures…)

  • Monitor and execute surveillance inspections: schedule quality surveillance inspections at suppliers, assure compliance with contract requirements and applicable regulations, timely review and distribute the inspections report.

  • Manage technical deviations – follow up the non-conformities resulting from the quality inspections or from the regular operations, record and discuss the nonconformities identified at suppliers

  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA), FMEA (Failure Mode & Effect Analysis) for process improvement, and preventive / corrective action as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Preferably Electrical&Electronic/Mechanical/Industrial/ Metallurgical and Materials Engineering)

  • Min. 3 years of experience in Quality Management and/or Supplier Qualification

  • Strong project management experience

  • Fluent in English

  • Ability and willingness to travel at least 50% as required

  • Be an experienced problem solver, with an analytical and methodical approach to solving complex quality issues in a fast-paced pressured global environment

  • Have a continuous improvement and preventative mindset

  • Global mindset with a willingness to understand different cultures and work collaboratively

  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities including working with large organizations and various levels of management

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in Hydro Business is strong adder

  • Spanish/French or German as additional language is a plus

  • Welding, painting and NDT Qualifications (SNQC-IS, CP, END or equivalent) is a plus

  • Qualification in Quality Management Systems as Lead Auditor as per ISO 9001, etc.

  • Highly motivated self-starter with initiative and interpersonal skills to direct cross-functional work with demonstrated project management ability to drive projects to completion

  • Demonstrate agility and adaptability to think around corners and adjust to constantly changing variables
