The GE Additive Field Service Engineer will provide leadership, technical direction, and assistance to the customer, in the operation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of GE Additive/Concept Laser 3D Printers. You will interface with all levels of customer and Company organizations, provide on-site assessment of activities to anticipate problems, trends, and customer climate change, and provide complete reporting of customer problems, failures, and trends..
In addition, the Field Service Engineer will:
Provide installation, service, and technical assistance through on-site guidance and training in the proper operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of GE Additive/Concept Laser 3D printers and associated equipment, including the use and proper interpretation of data and technical instructions.
Provide communication to the business regarding all 3D Printer involved activities/problems through complete, accurate, and timely reports. Reporting also includes significant marketing intelligence and sales opportunities for both 3D Printers and support.
Assist the customer in scheduling maintenance and workload to ensure assets are available to meet schedules.
Review, analyze, report, and make recommendations regarding reported 3D Printer malfunctions to ensure a continuous reduction of disruptions for customers.
Analyze and make recommendations regarding required maintenance to ensure alignment with customer requirements.
Review effectiveness of maintenance actions in order to identify training needs.
Maintain awareness of program and project changes.
Provide customer insight and training as necessary for future product line support.
Utilize data and analytics to influence positive outcomes for customers.
Communicate with all levels of customer personnel to ensure effective support of the product.
Support Additive Field Service process improvements as required.
Engage with Technical Support teams in the US, Germany and other Field Service representatives located globally.
Support GE Additive / Concept Laser marketing and sales teams for customized projects, training, exhibits, trade shows and other corporate activitie Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in a field service or maintenance position). ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENT:
This position will be based out of our West Chester facility and requires the ability and willingness to travel up to 75% of the time Desired Characteristics:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering
Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (Internal GE Employees only)
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Demonstrated analytical and quality improvement ability
Demonstrated technical expertise in machine repair, troubleshooting, shop operations, and testing
Demonstrated understanding of the financial/commercial impact of technical solutions
Ability to make formal presentations to all levels of the organization, customers and peers
Able to work with all levels of maintenance, engineering, and management
Demonstrated use of project management skills and metrics to achieve program goals
Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and influence customer and peers
Ability to work across global teams
Fluent in English – proficiency in local language preferred
Experience with Additive Manufacturing customers and machines is preferred, but not required
