The Project needs to be executed in a smooth flow wherein the raw materials at a best price can be procured in time and with correct measurement of the drawings. A lot of coordination is required with other departments like Engineering, projects, Construction etc. to ensure on time delivery. Negotiation skill is required to deal with the suppliers for the best price.
Bears commercial responsibility for purchasing within the process “Procurement and Logistics” considering project specific requirements and commodity procurement strategy
Performs the purchasing activities in close cooperation PPM and Project Engineering Manager
Issues RFQ, performs total cost analysis, prepares basis for decision during the project execution phase
Collects information from the PPM regarding project-related, commercial and legal specifications
Selects suppliers based on strategy and/or project requirements and initiates the necessary assessment of new suppliers Key – commodities
Works on the target prices for inquiries in cooperation with the PPM
Informs the PPM of forthcoming negotiations, of the intentions how the negotiations will be conducted and agrees the goals of the negotiations
Conducts negotiations involving Project Engineering Manager, PPM, and Project Manager
Concludes with the respective contractor/supplier the necessary co-ordination agreements in cases of off-shore / onshore split turnkey responsibilities for the purchased goods and services
Prepare Commercial Bid Evaluation Sheet and obtain Technical Bid Evaluation from Project Engineering Manager Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Sourcing Management
6-8 years of relevant experience in Procurement, preferably in EPC company
Must have valid authorization to work full-time without any restriction in the role’s location Desired Characteristics:
Product knowledge (cost structure, lead time, technical features)
Negotiation skills (experience, training)
Knowledge of contract law (terms and conditions)
Basic financial understanding (hedging, net present value, D&B-report, financial report)
Basic knowledge of transport, insurance, taxes and duties
Knowledge of ERP system (SAP)
Knowledge of Supplier Market
