Role Summary:

GE Healthcare Mechanical Engineering co-ops work on a variety of assignments in areas of mechanical design. Roles include component design, analysis, development and testing, field and manufacturing support. There will be project-oriented assignments where co-ops will be responsible for executing engineering changes, including part drawings and analyses. Both individual and team-based projects will be given.

Essential Responsibilities:

Mechanical Engineering co-ops work closely with other engineering and cross-functional team members to design new and improve existing parts and processes. Mechanical Engineering co-ops act as key team members interacting with external stakeholders, including suppliers and customers, to troubleshoot and resolve issues. These individuals work hands-on with components and utilize CAD skills to design, analyze, and test components.

Qualifications/Requirements:

3.0 cumulative overall GPA or better (in a 4.0 scale).

Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate technical problems in clear and simple terms.

Demonstrated analytical ability and technical competency in Mechanical Engineering, including knowledge of CAD tools.

Proven Leadership skills and experience.

Strong Initiative and ability to work independently and in teams.

Must be willing to relocate.

Must be a full time student pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or Biomedical Engineering with an emphasis in Mechanical Engineering.

Desired Characteristics:

Prior intern, co-op, or research experience in design engineering or manufacturing or research experience in the design field.

Experience using PTC's Creo or ProENGINEER Wildfire CAD tool and their Windchill PDM tool.

Strong commitment to a career in technology and a passion for engineering.

Demonstrated analytic approach to problem solving.

Proven adaptable to difficult situations.

Demonstrated leadership skills and community involvement.
