Role Summary/Purpose

This position is responsible for providing Database, Oracle EBS DBA and related 3rd party tools support to all ERPs supported by ERP COE and leading key strategic initiatives within the EBS Services Team. Partner with Application teams in the design, development, and implementation of IT solutions.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Perform Oracle EBS Applications database administration (DBA) tasks including patching, creating backup and recovery strategies, upgrading, performance tuning/optimization of Oracle EBS R12 and R12.2 systems

  • Review, develop, recommend, enforce, and adhere to database policies and standards; Develop new standard operating procedures (SOPs) for Oracle EBS application software installation and configuration including high availability and disaster recovery solutions.

  • Work with application teams and business leaders to provide guidance in planning, evaluation, design, development, implementation, and operation of IT solutions

  • Provide evaluation, architecture, and integration support for 3rd Party products within the Oracle framework

  • Integrate with a larger DBA team that supports other custom Oracle database applications and work effectively across various support teams and with senior management

  • Participate in the technical mentoring, training and education of team members

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment, with shifting priorities

  • Must be comfortable with change and actively driving improvements

  • Champion the adoption of new technologies and drive the implementation into the GE environments


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Oracle RAC, RMAN, Dataguard, Oracle Applications administration including upgrades, installation, performance tuning, problem analysis, problem resolution, configuration, management and maintenance of Oracle EBS 12.1.3 and 12.2.

  • Minimum 5 years with problem analysis/resolution for O/S, database, and middle tier technologies

  • Minimum 5 years of experience with Linux and or Solaris operating systems, authoring and maintaining UNIX shell scripts

  • Experience with using Online patching feature of Oracle EBS 12.2

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience with Oracle WebLogic administration including installations, problem analysis, problem resolution, configuration, and performance tuning

  • Strong skills in new product evaluation, architecture, implementation, and integration with Oracle databases and Oracle Application

  • Experience with Demantra, Endeca, Discoverer, WebCenter and other 3rd party tools integrated with Oracle EBS systems

  • Direct experience with off-shore support models

  • Knowledge of IT controllership methodologies and standards and demonstrated experience with project execution compliant with systems development life cycle methodology

  • Strong communications skills: clear, concise and able to communicate effectively with IT and functional managers at all levels

  • Ability to meet objectives by influencing and engaging across multiple teams
