North American Fleet Manager

The North American (NAM) Fleet Manager is responsible for the GE Betz and GE Mobile Water fleet operations, consisting of 100 leased Tractors, 83 straight trucks, and 800 Trailers. This role manages $8MM/yr. spend, including significant contracts on equipment leasing, maintenance, and technology. Key to this position is delivering customer needs by ensuring all tractors and trailers are maintained, properly permitted and licensed in a compliant, safe, and cost effective fashion.
As the North American Fleet Manager, you will:
Interact with the business and supply chain leaders regarding fleet operations. Liaise with the drivers to insure they have the equipment they need
Manage operational relationship with distributed network of suppliers
Lead efforts to create visibility and manage fleet operating expenses and lead projects to drive costs out
Prepare and communicate monthly metrics on cost, service, and compliance with the key management teams
Interface with corporate and business-level GE DOT compliance teams to ensure we operate per DOT rules and maintain the required permits for fleet operations with state and federal agencies
Define, propose, and execute annual capital projects that innovate, preserve or replace our assets to insure continuity of service
Use lean / six sigma and other techniques, to continually review, improve and simplify processes, and insure they are documented, maintained, and accessible
Continually develop and train team members to accel and are prepared to take on new responsibilities
Manage all aspects of capital expenditure projects required for fleet equipment, from beginning to end
Budget set at $1MM/yr. across 5-10 unique projects
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college
Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing, logistics, or general supply chain function
Minimum of 1 year of experience in customer facing capacity

Master’s Degree in business, operations, or finance
Prior experience in Fleet, DOT compliance, logistics and operations
Innovative, creative, and mechanical background
Strong analytical, critical thinking, and organizational skills
Ability to communicate across all levels of the organization, both oral and written
Ability to adapt to drive change across a global team in a dynamic business environment
Ability to work well in a fast-paced and challenging environment
Proven track record of delivering results
