Role Summary:

Baker Hughes, a GE company has an immediate opening for a Senior Strategic Sourcing / Category Manager in our Pressure Pumping group located at our Tomball, TX location. This position requires an experienced, aggressive, and innovative sourcing manager that knows how to be on the winning side of negotiation. We are looking for innovation in supplier management, cost reduction and contract management.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Lead End to End sourcing operations to meet business demand globally

  • Execute Global Sourcing Plan for critical raw material to achieve long term success

  • Develop and execute negotiation strategies to secure cost advantage in the market

  • Analyze data and business intelligence to identify and exploit trends in the market

  • Expand supplier relationships to ensure high service levels with competitive pricing

  • Manage complex strategic sourcing projects with global cross functional team

  • Negotiates pricing, terms and conditions for agreements with suppliers

  • Responsible for financial performance of raw material categories

  • Optimize global sourcing procedures to attain maximum efficiency

  • Monitors Baker Hughes, a GE company, supplier compliance and performance against established contracts and processes

  • Maintains thorough industry and commodity knowledge

  • Proposes and implements improvements to sourcing policies

  • Handles special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, or Supply Chain Management or equivalent experience

  • 7+ years’ experience in sourcing/procurement for direct and indirect spend

  • 2+ years’ experience in a leadership role

  • Experience in the Chemical, Mechanical, and instrumentation Sourcing

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft office systems

  • SAP knowledge and experience

  • Strong negotiation and contract skills and strong alliance management skills

  • Must be able to adapt to changing priorities

  • Excellent ability to communicate with internal customers and suppliers

  • Thorough knowledge of Master Supply Agreement (MSA) content and structure, Including, but not limited to, legal terms and conditions, transportation INCO terms, payment terms, SOX compliance, and, import and export

Desired Characteristics:

  • APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional, Institute of Supply Management is desired

  • Six Sigma Certification preferred

  • Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
