Role Summary:

This position will be for a scientist with fundamental knowledge of hazardous chemical handling as well as a working knowledge of wet chemistry techniques. Primary functions include sample log-in, product material compatibility testing, and physical properties testing. Additionally, the candidate must be able to interpret and report the data to the customer. The candidate must also be familiar with various analytical instrumentations.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Managing the login and distribution of samples for the Analytical Services team

  • Materials compatibility testing on new and existing products

  • Must be safety-focused with chemical handling and storage

  • Strong organization, communication, documentation and interpersonal skills

  • Able to interpret data and report to customers

  • Troubleshooting, maintaining, and calibrating analytical instrumentation

  • Able to prioritize and work across various support areas for timely project completion

  • Ability to work in a team environment and independently with minor supervision

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent with 3+ years’ experience or Bachelor's Degree with 2+ years’ experience in a scientific discipline

  • Good analytical skills and multi-tasking skills with keen attention to detail

  • Working knowledge of laboratory instrumentations (Densitometer, Viscometer, Flash Point, Pour Point, and Vapor Pressure)

  • Computer proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Must be able to lift 25 Ibs.

Desired Characteristics:

  • 2-4 years of industrial/chemical experience as well as knowledge of working with hazardous chemicals

  • Working knowledge of wet chemistry techniques (ex. Karl Fischer Titration, pH)

  • LIMS experience a plus
