Role Summary/Purpose

To prepare and approve technical instructions, specifications and reports in accordance with established procedures. To provide consultancy services on power plant related areas and on evaluation of new engine and equipment.

Essential Responsibilities

-Provide technical support on engine assembly, disassembly, cleaning, inspection and piece part repair requirements.

-Prepare and approve Engineering Instructions, Repair Instructions, Technical Reports, Manual Revisions Authority and other technical instructions as required to enhance the economic operation and maintainability and life of engine, components and equipment.

-Co-ordinate Work scope Planning Guides meetings and make recommendations to enhance performance/reliability of engines overhaul or repair by GE Engine Services Malaysia (GEESM).

-Carry out engine configuration test cell software amendments, monitor engine performance and assist in trouble shooting of engine problems.

-Review and ensure applicable Airworthiness Directives and DCA requirements are complied with.

-Check technical drawings and request for alternative materials prior to their approval.

-Conduct joint defect investigation with Quality Assurance and prepare sampling reports for as and when required.

-Review service bulletins and recommend for incorporation during engine shop visits.


  • 2-5 of years in mechanical background (hands on mechanical troubleshooting)

  • Production, repair shop or overhaul shop floor experience

  • Should have experience taking care of process or production line & prefer process improvement experience.

  • Prefer from engine overhaul, component repair / overhaul, new make of aviation parts/components/engine/aircraft companies or other related mechanical industrial companies.

Desired Characteristics

· Degree in Engineering field is highly desired.

· Candidates with knowledge of DCA, EASA, FAA Part 145 requirements will be an advantage

· Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

· Ability to work independently.

· Strong problem solving skills.
