Role Summary:

An external facing role as Aftermarket Leader, focused on growing the rebuild, retrofit, service and aftermarket business with increasing profitability for GE Mining. The leader coming into the role is expected to bring decades of mining and construction equipment business experience along with significant experience in operations, re-manufacturing, service and aftermarket business growth. The Service Shops in Australia and the Underground business will report to this role.

Essential Responsibilities:

The Leader will be expected to significantly grow the revenue from aftermarket part sales and the revenue from service shops.

Grow the aftermarket parts, rebuild, retrofit and service business

Lead a deliberate market based pricing strategy to improve parts conversion and improve market share

Lead Variable Cost reduction and Period cost reduction opportunities in Service Shops around the world

Create world-class service shops leveraging Lean best practices and GE PREDIX platform based solutions

Manage relationships with OEMS as the One Face to the customer

Provide market based insights into the product life cycle opportunities

Work as a Senior leader with peers to propose product life cycle strategies, portfolio roadmap and set development priorities – including cross-Product Line synchronization and pricing

Manage Parts warehouses (including VMI solutions) to improve service availability, parts turns and profitability

Qualifications/Requirements:

15 years of industry experience in Mining and Construction.

10 years of experience in Supply Chain, Aftermarket (Reman), Lean and Facility Operations

BA or BS in business, engineering, marketing or related discipline

Desired Characteristics:

Demonstrated knowledge of mining industry/value chain, underground mining equipment & services industries, off-highway vehicles and/or mining infrastructure projects

Thought leadership, comfortable with mining market and technology trends, uncertainty

Problem solver, Teacher, Influencer

Analytical skills (6 Sigma MBB training highly preferred)

Ability to represent and deliver the best of GE with customers

Demonstrated vision and agility, inclusiveness, influencing, problem solving, negotiation and interpersonal skills

Understands complex concepts and translates them in a way that businesses in the industry can understand

An excellent negotiator who is experienced in large complex deals and contracts, manufacturing, engineering and operations processes

MBA or equivalent post-graduate qualifications

Results driven and demonstrated leader capable of working within a highly matrixed organization

Executive presence and communications skills.

Ability to impress customers and develop trusted relationships with prospects, customers, team members, management, and industry influencers.

A team player, comfortable in a highly collaborative, team oriented culture

Outstanding project/program management skills and change management experience
